The service at the bar is always top-notch. You’ll often find one of the “Bad Brothers” (Nick or CJ) behind the bar, which really adds a personal touch to the experience.
The food is consistently fantastic. Every night offers something different, and the quality never disappoints.
The ambiance is great as well, though be prepared to wait for a seat at the bar, especially on busy nights–this just speaks to how popular and delicious the food is.
The bar truly shines here. Their local beer selection is top-notch and clearly curated with care, offering a fantastic taste of the area. Even better were the unique cocktail offerings—they’re creative and expertly made, a definite step above the usual.
While the food menu is short, don’t let that fool you. They are clearly focused on quality over quantity. I had the burger, and it was very good—perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. It’s the kind of place where you know anything you order will be excellent.
If you’re looking for a spot with great atmosphere, superb drinks, and a small but mighty food menu, look no further. Highly recommend!
Inside smelt very damp almost like a swimming pool which was odd. They had a nice selection of beers and my appetiser and burger were both really nice.
My ceasar salad was inedible. It tasted as if the chef had split a whole jar of salt into the mix so didn’t eat it.
Service really let things down, our waitress wasn’t around much and when we did get her attention she would be walking off before we finished speaking. Tip is automagically applied at 20% which made us think that’s why the service was lacking.
Get the sausage roll, it’s very good. The bread was tasty and the consistency of meat and cheese was quite flawless. The Caesar salad that came with it was also very good. If my tastebuds serve me right, maybe a little too much anchovies, and the salad probably sat out for too long because it was wilted.
I got the Bleu Cheese Burger. The patty was med-rare, but not consistent across the patty, edges were very dry compared to the cross section. Also the massive slab of bleu cheese wasn’t too great and the caramelized onions weren’t very tasty. I don’t wanna give tips, but make the bleu cheese a sauce/spread. Burger was also quite small for a burger, like slightly bigger than a QPC for $20. The portion was still perfectly sized, but I expected bigger.
Steak fries were maybe perfect. Crispy on the outside, pillowy on the inside, they were the best thing on the plate.
The beverage selection is a little daunting and our server didn’t know what they were out of, so I had to give 3 options prior to making sure I got a beverage the same time as my partner.
Seating area is a little cramped, but it felt very neighborly, like an amazing local joint it is. Bar was roaring and had tons of energy.
Service was fine, employee dress code is a little questionable.
Would recommend groups of more than 4 call ahead (since it is a small space).
Lots of flavor and umami. The cheese
Plate was great and paired well with the occasion. We were unfamiliar with the area but were so happy to find this place! Great vibe and excellent service! They gave us food and drink recommendations that were perfection! Friendly patrons. Would come back to Philly just to visit again even from 3 hours away!
