My husband and I were driving through on our way to Niagara Falls yesterday and we stopped in for lunch. We debated if we should stop in and try somewhere new or keep driving and eat somewhere we have been before. We were so happy we decided to eat there! Great food, reasonable prices, friendly staff. We sat outside, looked at the beautiful scenery, and had one of the best lunches we could of asked for. Great BBQ! Highly recommend stopping in to try it if you are in the area.

Honestly, hands down amazing. Never been here before and the owner came right up to us, to make sure we knew how it all worked. He was nice, friendly, funny and outgoing. The food came out fast, hot and delicious.

We had the garbage plate, and there was nothing garbage about it. We will be back for sure. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. This is a local spot for sure, but a lot of fun if you’re a tourist and need something new.

A nice surprise when we had to go to Gasport! Local store employee recommended this place and it was very good! Clean, relaxed atmosphere, friendly service. Prices average, and food was very tasty!! Loved the stuffed jalapeno peppers!!! Garbage plate was a good choice to try 2 different meats. Will be back!

Can’t rate the food or service, yet anyway. Looked them up online & Google was showing them as open on a Friday. Hop in the car with the family, make the drive… And they are closed. Apparently as in “for the season” closed. Nothing I could find online referring to the restaurant indicates that they close for the season. No sign in a window at the place saying “Opening on blah blah Day”. Just “We’re Closed” signs. Glad it was not a long drive to get there.
If they do reopen and I get a chance to try the food I’ll revise the review accordingly.

This is about our 8th time coming here. I recommend it to anyone that enjoys good bbq locally. Staff always friendly. Food is consistent in taste. Have tried ribs & pulled pork & all sides. Usually there are 2 of us that come & we share different sides. Can not go wrong with your visit. Portions are good size too. Always leave with containers/box of my meal I can’t finish…I advise anyone to check them out and see for yourself. Dont think you will be disappointed!!

Passing thru and had no intentions of eating in this area until we saw the smoker! Brisket is amazing! Ribs were fantastic… meat melts in your mouth. Glad we came. We will definitely be coming back.

In recent years, we’ve seen restaurant choices in Olcott/Olcott Beach come and go. Until very recently, your choices for restaurants in the immediate village were, one good but rather expensive restaurant, one small diner with mostly passable food, and one restaurant with a reputation for both poor food and poor service. So when we learned that Bad-Ash BBQ was opening a restaurant in Olcott in mid-July, we were thrilled. We waited for them to get established in their new location and then we went there for dinner one recent Saturday. You can dine inside, or outside on a large covered deck with a view of the lake. The weather was beautiful that day, so we chose a table outside on the deck. The deck was roughly 1/3 full of customers when we arrived there just before 5 pm. We were seated immediately and given menus. The menu primarily features various BBQ meats and assorted side dishes, all priced separately. We ordered a pulled-chicken sandwich with cole slaw, a half-rack of BBQ baby back ribs with homemade French fries, and beverages. It took nearly 25 minutes for our meals to appear, but it was worth the wait. The large pulled-chicken sandwich was hot, tender, juicy, and very tasty. My 1/2 rack of BBQ ribs contained a generous 7-rib portion that was hot, tender, very delicious, and slid off the bones. The French fries were hot, crispy, and delicious as well. Our server was friendly and very attentive throughout our meal. Our check totaled $27 for both meals and beverages. Not inexpensive, but roughly what you’d pay for good BBQ elsewhere.

I love BBQ ribs, and order them whenever I can but, I never know what to expect when I order ribs. I’ve had some very good ribs, and some not so good ribs, so I’m a bit hesitant when I’m given that option in a restaurant. Based on our recent experience here, we have no reservation about eating here again ASAP, or for recommending this restaurant or their BBQ. If this restaurant continues to provide delicious BBQ and good service, they should do very well in this location, along with giving visitors to Olcott a viable option for good food.

*And now for the disclaimers. This is a new restaurant in a new location, and, like all new restaurants, they’re working through the usual start-up headaches. Be aware, they smoke a set amount of meat daily to limit the amount of meat that’s wasted at the end of each day. So when that day’s meat is sold out, there’s no more until the next day. My recommendation is to get there early for dinner to help ensure that you’re not disappointed, especially when there are special events in town. Thanks for taking the time to read this review.

This was by far the worst service and food I’ve ever had. We sat down around 5:10pm and ordered.10 minutes later we recieved our waters after 3 other couples came in and sat down. At 5:45 while the other 3 couples were eating there dinners a different waitress came out and told us they were out of the sandwich my wife ordered and to pick somthing else. I should have walked out right then but foolishly i still gave it a chance. At 6:00 we finally recieved our food and simply put it was the worst BBQ ive ever had anywhere and I’ve had it all over this country. We reluctantly tried to eat or dinners and couldn’t get past about half way. Then still another waitress came out and asked how everything was I informed her we would never be back. This didn’t seem to matter. This is the only time in my life I ever stiffed a waitress and the couple next to us stiffed her to and told us it was because of what they watched happen to us. This restaurant was a complete disappointment and took away from what was an otherwise great afternoon at the Olcott jazz festival . Still think Olcott is a great place but I’ll never go back to this place.

Brisket much better on second visit, much more tenderness to it. I tried the sliced 1/2 lb brisket again. When you order it, if ordering the 1/4 or 1/2 lb. brisket and you want to make a sandwich you have to ask for a roll. The sweet Barbeque sauce was again, very good. I was going to go again today but sad to see closed both on Monday and Tuesday. They had a full house that day, which says they are doing Barbeque right. I still say the Carolina sauce should be sent there. I will be back for the three times a charm lunch in my travels.
