Food was the best I’ve had in a while! Pork belly appetizer is a must! Burgers were a little dry, but everything else was amazing.. wait staff left a lot to be desired ( no straw, no silverware and didn’t ask if we’d like refills)
**The kitchen closed an hour before closing time..and even though we ordered, when I tried to order another app for my daughter to take home the response was “let me ask the kitchen” and of course they said no! We will return, but only if we can make it there before 2 hrs before close.. otherwise we’re not going .. if you’re a hr before close better hurry, because they won’t take your order after 9:15pm.
When my party of three showed up there was one other table at the restaurant and they already had their food.
We ordered appetizers. I think she forgot to put them in originally because it took forever. Our nachos were cold, soggy, and the cheese was already rehardened. It’s fine, we looked past it. They were still good.
It was over an hour before we got our main entrees, my friends cornbread was burnt. Black. Embarrassing to even put something like that in the window. My mushroom burger had no mushrooms on it and tasted off, was perfectly pink in the middle but burnt on the outside. Couldn’t eat more than two bites. My fiancees farm burger came with burnt eggs and under cooked brisket on it. She also didn’t bring his fries out right away.
She had checked on us after she dropped the appetizers but not after the food. She made herself very scarce and honestly I imagine it was because she could see the bad quality of the food that was left for us.
Didn’t complain to them, but feel that the price was insane for bad service and long wait times. Could definitely see it on the waitress’ face that she was nervous we were going to complain.
Probably nothing but I also didn’t appreciate her hovering while we were counting cash for the bill. The most we saw her in the almost two hours we were there.
Last time we were here we had a long ish wait time but nothing like this and our food wasn’t burnt to a crisp.
Aug 2021 — While they survived COVID, it’s not been nice to them. We stopped in again with another couple, but had heard from others that there were many problems. We see what was happening ==> the problems are not the restaurant’s fault: basically they cannot hire enough people. While we were there, we only saw three employees. One was taking care of the dining room and bar and two were in the kitchen: cooking and delivering the food. That’s it. Three people for the whole place.
We ordered three burgers, a salad, and shared the bacon flight to see what has changed since our last visit. The food was good although the cooks were VERY HEAVY handed with their use of the salt shakers. The fries were almost on the verge of inedible, and the bacon strips were almost as bad. However, since everything came with sauces and other accompaniments, we could wipe off most of the salt and use ketchup and other stuff to make it tolerable.
The menu has shrunk down also. There are basically two pages, which is why we only got burgers.
What we got was well done and the beer selection complemented the food nicely. The one waiter was hustling and we saw the kitchen staff running their heads off as well so no complaints about the staff – they did the best they could. Their attitudes were good considering the situation they dealt with so I am not reducing my rating at all. But I will wait until they have more staff before coming back.
2018 – Really liked this place. Dishes are named and described amusingly. They come out as described with good flavors. We ordered two appetizers, four sandwiches and drinks. Waitress was a lot of fun and could dish it back in a fun way. We rolled out stuffed and happy. Each element of the name is very much apparent in the dishes and libations on the menu. Definitely worth additional visits.
