Went here for Valentines Day and had a 35 minute wait even though the restaurant was completely empty….we waited because I really wanted to try the Crab Rangoon Pizza.
Kaitlyn was our server and she was great!!
-We got the Lobster Spinach Dip that was Devine!*
-The BBQ pizza was delicious! *
-Crab Rangoon pizza was good! *
-The Philly cheesesteak pizza however was disgusting*****. It was gooey and the meat was chewy and rubbery. We ate one piece and took it home for our dogs. There wasn’t any toppings hardly either on this specific pizza besides the large clumps of blubber. We thought about complaining but our server was just so nice we didn’t want to give her a hard time. I hope management changed their meat choice or just take it off the menu completely.

This place is hit or miss sometimes. Both pizza had very burnt crusts, and the pepperoni pizza was soggy in the middle. Went there on Valentine’s Day, waited over an hour for a table even tho there was a lot of empty tables and booths. waited 20 minutes to get our order taken even tho we knew what we wanted before we was seated and never once picked up the menu. The waiter kept rushing off before I could get a word out to order, not that he would have remembered anyhow with nothing to write it all down on. There was a table who got seated 10 mins after we did and. Was served first. It was a mess and we was just ready to go home. We go here 3-4 times a month, and never has our experience or pizza been this bad!

First time in KY and we assumed we’d be eating fried chicken. Instead, we found a surprising gem!
This place was a match made in heaven with a raw bar plus wood fired pizzas in the most unique flavors I have ever seen! My fiance and I have been to all the lower 48 and this spot was such a pleasant find. We ended up getting the lobster cheesy bread, hickory ahi, chop house pizza, and wanton pizza. Delicious!!! Truly wish we could be back to try everything else but sadly yall with have to do that for us

This is the birria pizza from the specials list. I thought this pizza was done well, but the consome was lackluster. The consome tasted mostly of chili powder, which the chips and salsa also seemed to have too much of. Overall, this is a good place for unique pizza choices.

Backyard Pizza is a pretty good pizza joint. Definitely the best pizza in this area. We got the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. They were good but the batter could’ve cooked longer. Wife got a Milano and I got the Old Style NY. Milano was much better but both were good. The crust is the best part of the pizza. The dining area is kinda janky not gonna lie. It didn’t do much for me. The music was on point though. Any time Alice In Chains is playing, I’m happy. It’s a little pricy but what isn’t these days?!

Had a really good experience here. They were very accommodating to my allergies. Recently diagnosed with alpha-gal and made it known to our waiter. He hadn’t heard of it and researched it real quick and they all went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed. They offer vegan options which is nice. Food was delicious and they prepared it special for us to avoid cross contamination which is very important for those with alpha-gal. Can’t say enough about the wonderful service.

We were excited that this place does brunch on Sunday. We definitely enjoyed mimosas and the breakfast bowls. All the French Toast options (lava, cinnamon, stuffed, etc) that our large group ordered were less than to be desired. Tasted more like texas toast with cinnamon sugar. The “stuffed French toast” was not stuffed. Simply a sugar glaze on top with hardly had any lemon flavor. Something happened with the grill causing our orders to be delayed along with running out of bacon which was substituted with prosciutto. Overall wasn’t a bad experience but not a special one either when you think of brunch. Just stick with pizza for dinner.

First time here at Backyard Pizza and Raw Bar in Ashland, KY. The Lobster Artichoke and Spinach dip was delicious. I can’t wait to come back and try the pizzas. Lily was the best. Service was great too. My new favorite location to have a meal !!

We like this place a lot when we come as a big family. Unfortunately the lobster artichoke dip was not great on this day, but I think it was because there wasnt really any lobster in it and the top cheese congealed together and wouldnt break apart – probablu wont order again. The pizzas were very good, especially the Jammin Jamaican one. The booth by the kitchen window where we were seated seems like it needs redone/replaced. You would slide toward the front of the bench, but I’m guessing it is just where the seat has worn in weird over years – the waitress said she hadn’t ever sat there so she didn’t know it was like that. I like the Backyard Huntington location better because of the ambiance, but the food is consistent for both locations in my mind. I would still recommend this place, especially before a movie at Camp Landing. OH! And the bathrooms are FREEZING in the winter. Is there a heater in there?
