Everything about this establishment met my needs. I’m not easy to please, but my server was amazing. Please ask for Izzy. If you visit the backyard she accommodated our pets as well as us and was very attentive. The atmosphere is amazing especially if you have big dogs.lol the food is tasteful as well … great experience 10 out of 10 I will visit again

It was new years and busy but overall the experience was fun for the first time. It was my fiancés birthday too so it was a good vibe for the night. A guy bartender made sure we were taken care of kind of pricey for the our tho

It’s a cool atmosphere. My quesadilla was pretty good. The fries were nasty – they reminded me of school lunches when I was a kid.

They add gratuity. For $35, they added a little over $8.50. I’m glad I looked at the check.

The vibes here were good and the quesadilla was honestly really tasty. Unfortunately the service was slow and the server seemed to be in her own world most of the time. The fact that they add gratuity here is kind of crazy considering it’s a bar, but if the service was good it wouldn’t have bothered me.

If you’re looking for the ultimate dog-friendly spot in Dallas, look no further than Backyard—especially after the way they showed up for Dog Day Fest 2025! This wasn’t just another event; it was a full-on celebration of our furry friends, and Backyard went above and beyond to make it unforgettable.

From the moment you walked in, tails were wagging and smiles were everywhere. Backyard turned their space into a dog paradise—plenty of room for pups to play, relax, and soak up all the love from the community. You could tell right away that this wasn’t just a “pet-friendly” venue; they genuinely welcome dogs and their humans like family.

The staff deserves a huge shout-out. They weren’t just there to work; they were in the spirit of the festival—handing out water bowls, giving belly rubs, and making sure both two-legged and four-legged guests felt right at home. Their energy made the whole place buzz with joy.

And let’s talk food—wow! Backyard served up the kind of eats that keep people talking long after the event. From mouth-watering bites to refreshing drinks, it was the perfect fuel for a day of dog-filled fun. Pair that with live music, games, and the incredible lineup of vendors and rescues, and you had an event that brought the whole Dallas dog-lover community together.

Backyard didn’t just host—they supported, encouraged, and amplified what Dog Day Fest was all about: community, connection, and celebrating our pups. Dallas needs more places like this that understand how important our dogs are in our lives.

Huge thank you to Backyard for being such an incredible partner. Can’t wait to come back—tails wagging, of course!

the service is the absolute worst. I can definitely understand why the tip is automatically included in the bill. I was overcharged for food. the menu states that the sandwiches were ” served with seasoned fries” I was charged an extra $7 for fries on top of a $17 sandwhich. when asked about it the waitress tried to say that ” it’s just the way the menu is listed” which makes no sense. she rolled her eyes then went and got her manager. the kitchen staff who clearly had no knowledge of the table layout was often sent out to drop off food and would just wonder table to table. the manager came to our table to explain to us that there is a GameDay menu and that the menu our waitress gave us was invalid. the manager explained that our waitress should have told us that. the reasoning behind the extra charges for the fries was because they had to run next door to get them. we never ordered an extra side of fries due to the menu clearly stating that fries are included and if we had known itnwas going to be an extra charge we wouldnt have wanted them. our waitress spent majority of her time taking selfies with other patrons. the turkey club was very delicious and it normally comes cold and they made it hot for me. If this place had staff that cared about their jobs, this place would be amazing. the manager took off the charge of my meal for the troubles.

Can’t miss if you coming here for a good time, food, ambiance, and service.
From the personality and comfort of the security staff to our server Karen and bartender Wick, we were treated special. The food..will be back to try more of the menu. Burger had a signature taste and the fries are top notch. Chicken fingers and quesadillas were perfect, guac and sour cream to boot. Found a new spot to regular.

I didn’t realize this was a dress code type of place. We were turned away because we were not dressed okay (wearing a Patagonia shirt and shorts with Yeezy shoes). Came here because reviews said they were dog friendly. Apparently not and not okay unless dressed up a certain way

Order was wrong, their menu didn’t have most of the beers or the ingredients for the cocktails. Then looking at the check there’s obviously math that’s not adding up. Servers seemed like they could care less.
Yes, dogs are welcomed and I was super excited to see the corgi but most of the machines take coins. Really disappointed.

I gave a 4 star review only because we were not aware there was an automatic charge on every ticket for even just one drink. So, for one beer, it was $8 due to the $5 “service charge” (166%) which was their automatic tip. Maybe there’s a sign, I’m not really sure. We ended up leaving and going to other places in the area where this was not the case.
