The coordination leading up to the event was smooth with multiple check-ins/emails and clear communication. In our case, we collected funds from out guests ahead to keep things easy.
On event day, we enjoyed our run/walk on a beautiful Sunday and then about 20 of us hopped right into the restaurant. There were lovely custom menus which was a pleasant surprise but really showed the care taken for this event. We waited just a bit to provide our respective orders to our servers but then our beverages were served, and the fun ensued!
A DJ was there which was not expected but added a nice touch. She (yes SHE ) played all the hits which included multiple birthday shout outs. The restaurant event came out with sparklers and a custom Happy Birthday sign for our celebrant!
Food was greeeat (yum empanadas, fish and grits and that bread pudding was ON point!!!) and we were able to relax and enjoy our event without being rushed out.
Inside Out Run Club really appreciated hosting this special event at Backyard BBQ. Check us out on IG @InsideOutRunClub to join us at out next workout, community or social event!
Ok, so! I love trying foods that have a unique take and those wings were everythingggg
They tasted fried/baked, sweet, sticky & not too salty.. so perfect. So was the fried chicken with the Cajun rub and honey drizzle … insane lol
I love yams and those were definitely really tasty
The baked clams were good, I personally would like them to be broiled a bit to create solid crust. That would actually do it for me, I love a crunch.
The fish shrimp and grits is a very nice meal
The grits are perfect and I don’t eat grits from everyone … yea!
Let’s not forget the DJ!
The DJ is fire, he played good music back to back to back. We barely noticed we were there for 2 1/2 hours he made us forget about the wait and he made food taste better. No lies told!
Server was bomb! very knowledgeable, accommodating, friendly, and not overbearing.
Food was good for the most part and portioned correctly. The lemon pepper wings were SO flavorful! Legit best LP wings I’ve ever had. My only food critiques are the potato salad texture was too mushy for my liking, like mashed potatoes, I prefer a chunkier salad. The collard greens were fresh but needed a little sugar to cut the bitterness of the greens, oil, smoked turkey, garlic, a sprinkle of red pepper flakes, and to be cooked down for about 10–15 more minutes. The Mac and cheese was not good…at all. It was giving blue box vibes and it is not baked. They need an entire new recipe for that ASAP. Everything else pictured was on point including the drinks (they serve alcohol).
FYI- gratuity of 18% is automatically included but I didn’t mind that at all because the service was good. In fact I gave an extra tip on top of that just because of the service.
I would visit again. Give them a try!
The drinks are pretty solid, and the food was really good. I tried one of each of the tacos they have, which were all good. The star of the show is absolutely the brisket. It was pretty freaking spectacular, extremely soft, super flavorful rub and meat, and so dang delicious.
Highly recommended to swing by for the brisket!
