What an AMAZING restaurant! The food is so good and very flavorful. The spicy peel and eat shrimp are huge and are well worth the money. Note that it is cash only, no credit cards, however, they have an ATM on site. 5*****

This place may seem out of the way and in the middle of nowhere to some. But the food, service and atmosphere is worth it. You know the foods good when you see car tags from 3 different states. We’ll return to try more items on the menu. I know it’s a steak place. Just had to try some of the seafood and was impressed on taste and presentation. Waitresses were attentive and the food came quickly. Salad bar had a good variety of items and the coleslaw was off the chart.

Love the portion sizes. The rolls are my favorite part of the meal. They are hot, soft, and light. Combined with the honey butter spread and . I have to be careful, or they are all I will eat. Side Note: it’s the only place I allow myself to eat bread. Steak has always been perfectly marbled, perfectly medium rare (like I asked), and so flavourful it needed no steak sauce. I love it when they have holiday specials like valentines, where you have the options of flowers delivered to the table, what a sweet touch. I also thoroughly enjoy the views of the farmhouse while dining. The large windows in the room on the backside of the establishment make it easy to take in the peacful views! Highly recommend!

I had the fried catfish. It was delicious. Sweet potato was extremely good and it was huge! Salad bar was very good. The only reason they get a 3 is that my fiancés filet was gristly and salty. He didn’t eat it and would not send it back. We told the waitress and she said she would inform them and she would order another. I was nearly done with my meal so that wasn’t an option. That was the end of it and our bill was laid on the table. When I paid out, I ask management and she was rather quick in her reply that he was offered another. When I explained he would be eating alone she adjusted the bill by 20%. I feel like that should have been done without my asking. We will never make that drive to eat there again but I’m sure the place will continue to do a good business.

We’ve been back twice since they reopened and wow! Their Ribeyes are soft as butter and their spicy grilled shrimp was off the chain! Did I mention the rolls and their amazing salad bar? Friendly staff and it’s in a beautiful location. Wonderful place!

We were disappointed in our filets. Not much taste and rubbery texture. Onion rings were disappointing as well as there was no taste of onion. Definitely not as pictured on reviews. Service was great.

Normally don’t do reviews. This was my family’s first visit to the restaurant since it reopened. We loved going to the “old” Backwoods, and wanted to give the new owners a chance. It was a disappointment, I’m sorry to say. Our waitress, Chelsea, did a wonderful job, salad bar and rolls were awesome! One ordered grilled red snapper…..good, but only gave one piece instead of two. One ordered fried tilapia…..good. One ordered bacon wrapped filet mignon……there were three pieces of some other type of meat, and the bacon was just laid to the side ($33). Fourth person ordered fried red snapper…… not red snapper and the dark pieces had not been removed. Very fishy tasting($25). Hush puppies very dry. As we paid, I only mentioned the filet mignon not up to our expectations being tough and full of fat. All they had to say was, I’m so sorry about that, it’ll be $107.84. Thank you. I’m afraid we won’t be back.
