Backwoods is one of our favorite places by our cabin! They have great food and friendly staff. Prices are on par with the area. Great bar area to sit at or dining room. In the summer we love to sit out on the deck and look at the lake. Such a great place!

Great spot to stop in while fishing. You can take a small boat and dock in right at the restaurant from the lake if you’re staying at the nearby campgrounds. Our waitress was super nice. Their appetizers are delicious (try the deep fried cheese curds and mushrooms!) I got the fish sandwich and was very happy with it and the home-cooked chips. My company told me the burgers and shrimp plate are also really good. An awesome spot if you want a simple, tasty, rustic dining experience, this is the place!

Yum! Yum! Yum! We went there after dropping off our daughter at camp. It’s just a small, Backwoods bar and grill, very down-home, small-town feel. It’s a really great little place. We had the fish fry and the combination appetizer. So good! They were short staffed, but still had yummy food, got our orders right, knew what drinks we had, very impressive! The fried fish came out piping hot! Fish cools down really fast, so as a Mom, I’m usually eating lukewarm or cold fish. This was super hot and super good! The appetizer was amazing too! Definitely want to go back again!

Their fries and burgers are amazing. They’re bloody Marys are top-notch as well! You can drive on land or boat up to this place to park. You can also dine in or take out. There is a pretty good size deck facing chain lake part of it is covered and part of it is open.

A great family and local business! Acknowledge the signs on the door that they are running their business on a skeleton crew. All of our food came out piping hot. The homemade chips were great and though I was skeptical at 1st the Steak Melt was amazing! Ignore the impatient “Karen” reviews and give this place a shot with no need to rush your relaxation time!

My family stayed at The House, one of the resort cabins, for a week in July. Everything was wonderful! Great bar and grill. Accommodations were excellent and reminded me of old childhood vacations with my parents. Fishing was tough, but we caught some monsters! We left our boats at the docks overnight without any trouble. I recommend the beach at Round Lake right down the road.

We were treated poorly as if our business was a HUGE inconvenience for the bartender. My husband and three boys were looking forward to a meal out – and the experience will definitely deter us from going back. We live in the area and I’ve been coming to this place for the last 10 years. We have always enjoyed ourselves. The last few times the service has been less than great. Tonight, was the last straw. If you hate your job that much – quit. Don’t take it out on customers.

We had our bachelor and bachelorette party here! The staff was exceptional the cabins were clean and nice and the food was fantastic! I had only met the owners once before and they remembered me as soon as I walked in the door and we have been friends ever since! The other nice thing is the bar is within crawling distance of the cabins! Highly recommend this place!

Aaron and Amber are outstanding hosts! The atmosphere and view is great. The food is consistently good. Amber might make the best Bloody Mary in the area. Prices are fair. We always look forward to our visits!
