Been here a couple times over the past two summers. Pretty good food. Best thing is they have a few menu items that you won’t find at all the other county bar/restaurants in the area. It’s a big place, so lots of room for all.

I find myself going out of my way to stop in at Backwoods. It always has a great atmosphere with good people. They do a lot of their own smoked meats, which have been amazing. I recommend the house-smoked chicken wings. Sometimes I’ve been in and they’ve done smoked Cornish hens. The customer service is always good. The bartender or server always makes sure I’m doing well at the appropriate times.

This review is strictly about their service this past weekend. We rolled in around 8 on Friday night. The place was stupid busy. Within 10 minutes the owner greeted us and said food was about 90 minutes. We said that was okay, so he suggested we get a round up at the bar because the server was swamped. The bartender was prompt and also warned us of the wait time for food. We only had a few sips from our drinks and were greeted by our server. She took our order, added our drinks to our tab, and was incredibly attentive for how busy it was. Our food came out faster than expected and it was delicious. Our party was overjoyed with their service based on how busy it was. Thank you so very much, we will definitely be back!

Waitress was awesome along with her tattoo’s. She turned on Chicago NASCAR race for us. When we ordered food she said it was going to be awhile but we didn’t think it would be over an hour. We finally had to get it to go and when we got home the order was wrong. Also one of the people in our group found a bottle cap in the bottom of his coke. During this whole thing they only took his coke off the bill. So disappointed in this visit. Will NEVER eat there again. Also 3 in our group live there and will definitely talk about it. Once again the waitress was awesome.

45min wait for dinner which is understandable when receiving something good for dinner. Ordered the brisket tacos and there was a bag of lettuce with 4 little chunks of brisket on each taco. How it took 45min to put that together is beyond me and if I would of taken all the meat off all 3 tacos I may have had enough meat for one real taco. Calzone was as fresh and crunchy as a hot pocket. Server was super friendly and beer was cold but food was not worth it all. Frozen pizza would of put the food to shame.

These were “brisket tacos” from backwoods. Iceberg lettuce, tomato on one of them, no cheese, no onion, cold meat. All cold. My son ate one to be a good sport but gave up because it was really just an iceberg taco. It had BBQ sauce on the side but somehow that would make this even worse. Wife’s steak sandwich was raw and had a tendon running down the middle making it impossible to eat in a sandwich. $75 tab and nobody was happy. This is an edited review, it was 5 stars since they opened because everything has been very good. wouldn’t trust the new cook with kraft Mac and cheese.
