We ate here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. My husband had the pulled pork over mac & cheese, and I had the 2 piece broasted chicken dinner which was very good. This is a lovely location with a dock that people can tie their boats up to in order to have a bite. We had a very relaxing meal. They do their receipts differently than any place I have seen before. Instead of listing each item with the price shown on the menu and then adding a separate line charge for the credit card fee, they add the credit card fee to the price of each item. At the bottom there is the amount due, and below that, the cash amount due.

First visit and we’ll be back – excellent and attentive service, I had the BLT Wrap and potato salad – delicious, she had the Backwaters cheese sandwich and fries – also delicious. We enjoyed the beautiful view of the Wisconsin River while dining. Oh, try the “house made” chips, they are to die for. Enjoy your visit, we sure did.

We’re locals and although we have numerous dining options within 20 mins from our house, we choose Backwaters more than the others. The food offerings are unique enough to entice you to try something different yet all the northwoods staples are offered too. We’ve always felt very welcome by the owners and staff and the outdoor bar/patio/dining area overlooking the river is fantastic!

Nice clean fun atmosphere that sells good burgers. Also right on the river so have some nice scenery. Staff was nice and friendly and fast would recommend and we’ll be back thank you.

Fantastic fish fry! Breading was well seasoned,light, and crunchy. Delicious coleslaw, tartar sauce, and Ole fashioned. Relaxed atmosphere with tvs for sports and wonderful view of the wi river.

Was hoping for a good Wisconsin fish fry. Perch was tough. Fries were good. Apps greasy and over done. Ordered a double tall and couldn’t detect the liquor. The server was very nice. Air conditioning not working so in spite of it being very dead and free customers, it was uncomfortably hot. I would not go back.

First time here and I was blown away! There was a fundraiser happening which made it even more fun! Our server “Mama Sauer” was amazing! Attentive, funny and on the ball! We went there with my husbands parents from out of town and the food was incredible! They even came back out to double check for a food allergy which was awesome! I’m a general manager of a restaurant in the area and I was impressed! We will definitely be back and can’t wait to know the staff well! Thanks for an amazing visit!
