The menu is better than anything we found in Grand Lake. The prices are reasonable. The salads were very good. The shrimp surgical was good. Service is a bit slow, but this is a mountain town and you are here to relax, so enjoy an app or drink, and meet new friends. The place is full of amazingly restored jukeboxes and coin op merchandise. It’s worth a visit!

We ate here a couple times and both times it was excellent. I had the trout with green beans and rice and ate every bite. They don’t always do take out because they can get too busy, but all is forgiven. I would definitely eat there again.

First time eating here and it was amazing! We had the all you can eat shrimp and being from the Gulf Coast area, I was a bit skeptical of shrimp in Colorado. We were blown away at the quality and flavor of each kind (coconut, tempura, and scampi). We will definitely return the next time we’re in Grand Lake!

From the outside it looks wonderful!
The inside has several old Wurlitzer jukeboxes.
The ambiance is very nice.
Our waiter had a “nose in the air” attitude!
We had water to drink.
We ordered adult mac and cheese with bow tie pasta.
I added grilled chicken to mine and my hubby added blackened tuna to his.
That was the most disgusting mac and cheese we have ever tasted! liquid gold out of a box tastes better than that and the cook must not know how to make cheese sauce because it looked like he squirted cheese on top of it the chicken was dry and hard and his blackened tuna wasn’t really blackened and there were four tiny pieces of tuna on his plate, now we also ordered a twice baked potato that was absolutely delicious!!!! and we would have much rather eaten three or four of those!
Our bill….$45!!!
Needless to say we won’t be going back.

The main course was decent, fair sized portions and an slightly higher price for the area.
The issue came with dessert. My wife and I ordered the creme brûlée, one of our favorites. What arrived was a warm custard with some sugar on top. We were advised they had run out of butane for their torch and had to attempt to broil it to finish the dish. I understand the desire to serve what’s on the menu, but at a certain point the well trained owner should realize that what was on the menu and what we received are completely different.
This disappointment on top of service that was slightly aloof made for an experience we would not like to repeat.

We’ve been coming to Grand Lake for decades but it wasn’t until this year that we found Backstreet Steakhouse. Wish we had found it ages ago!
Well off the main drag it’s much more of a local haunt. Though they’re known for events and catering.
We went there with the family and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I had the veggie tacos with truffle sauce and it was amazing!! Everything was incredibly fresh and it’s clear this place it a step above.
Highly recommend getting a reservation as they fill up fast and people take their time here so turn over is slower.
If you want amazing food that’s high quality and s wine list to match this is the place.

Food here is some of the best in town. They have a very nice patio that provides good vibes. I find the service here a little difficult. I have been here 3 times and it has always taken the staff over 10 minutes to sit us. The first time i came here, I wasn’t sure if I needed to sit myself or wait on the staff. Just use some patience when choosing this restaurant.
