I had high hopes for a great breakfast from this “off the main track” dinner, but alas, the name could be “Middle of the Road Diner”. Nothing was standout. Everything was ok, nothing really stood out. My first observation was there was a number of tables yet to be bused, which I noticed when shown to my table by a less-than-friendly waitress. I ordered a breakfast consisting of eggs, country ham, hash browns and biscuit and “homemade gravy”. The eggs were a little overcooked (I like over-easy, they came over-medium). The hash browns were okay, but clearly from a frozen bag. The biscuit and gravy were, to be generous, disappointing. The biscuits was overcooked and crusty on the bottom (I had to use the steak knife meant for the ham to cut it) and the gravy had a sweet taste which just didn’t belong there. I doubt a second chance to get it right is forthcoming.

Came in for breakfast. Sat down waitress come up to me ask me what I wanted I said coffee and water. I got the coffee and water and she never came back to take my order. She was too busy on her cell phone. Couple came in after me she took their order and never came back to take Mine. She was too busy on her cell phone. First and last time there. I have to give zero stars for this place. I was very disappointed.

Good “down home” dishes. Meat and three lunches are reasonably priced with good portion sizes. Staff are friendly and attentive.

I can confidently say that was the best biscuit I’ve had in my life. Crisp outside but soft on the inside and just the right amount of salt to make it yummy on its own. Of course I got the homemade gravy with it. Their bacon is thick-cut and when you ask for cheese you get the real shredded stuff instead of a slice of American slapped on top! Our waitress was wonderful even though I had to walk out twice with a crying baby and was very prompt when we needed something! Definitely will be going back!

First time here and we had a Rude waitress, who made it very clear she was ready to go home, she rolled her eyes at me when I asked a question about a meal, we had cold food, and frozen sides. I was not impressed at all…I’m sure she was having a bad day. Will attempt to eat there again. But did not enjoy my first time here as much as the locals recommended it. They also need to fix the times online…They close at 1:30 not 2pm.

Really tasty, stick to your ribs good food. My daughter who is very picky eater ate a sausage biscuit with hashbrowns, plus her mom and my hashbrowns, along with her brothers fries and some of his fried chicken fingers. Philly omelete was large and tasty. White gravy and biscuits was good too. Drinks are huge. Service was friendly and prompt and is the first time we have gotten out of a restaurant for under $50 for all 5 of us including tip… $42, well done Backroads.

They have a great breakfast special here! Eggs, bacon, yummy crispy hash browns, toast or biscuit, grits or gravy, and coffee or tea. Seventy five cents extra for a soda. It was under $9. Good food, good price, good service, and friendly employees, you can’t beat that!
