We visited around 4:30 on a Sunday. Stood awkwardly by the front door for a bit waiting for someone to notice our arrival (the entry is visually blocked by a wall.) The server was kind and accommodating, and the pizza prices during happy hour helped us choose this place for our first visit. I had heard good things about their Detroit style (my favorite) pizza.
Unfortunately all our food failed to deliver. The $11 Onion Ring sharable was titled something like “Gigantic Onion Rings” but was more of a side order of sadness. It was about 9 rings, mostly tiny. We actually laughed and counted the rings. One ring was filled with uncooked breading (pictured) that the server didn’t seem to care about when mentioned (“I’ll let the kitchen know.”)
The pizzas (again- great happy hour price) were a mix of great and borderline inedible. The outside crust and cheese crown was cooked perfectly with an airy bottom crust and crispy edge. However, the middle of both pizzas had a thin, soggy, rubbery, unrisen dough. There may have been a 3/4 inch difference in the crust thickness from the edge, to the middle (see pictures). I don’t know if it was a dough problem, overload of toppings, or a cooking issue, but I would be too ashamed to serve that at home if I baked it.
All in all, if we see future reviews that indicate they have fixed the issues, we may try the restaurant again. But had it not been for the happy hour pricing on pizza and $3 draft beer, this would probably be a two star review and our definitive final visit.
The Cadillac pizza was the best thing we tried, and even the gluten free version surprised us. The burger didn’t land for us, but everything else made up for it.
It can get a little loud since it connects to the movie theater, but if you sit farther inside it’s totally fine. Overall a great lunch and we’ll definitely be back!!
I came back for another movie. And Pizza afterwards was really a great movie experience. However, our experience at the restaurant left a lot to be desired. That pizza came back with blackened crust, and the waitress tried to tell us that it was just caramelization on tasting it, it was horrible. I do hope they correct this gastronomic. Mistake in the future, as we really like going to the theater and restaurant afterwards
