Had an absolutely amazing dinner here with my family tonight! This was our first time going back in a few years and the perfect quality of the food never changes. They have the best food and atmosphere for a fancy night out. The staff and owner are both amazing and are very friendly as well. We all left stuffed to the point of popping with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow and can’t wait to go back for another delicious dinner very soon. This would be the perfect place for a date night out.

Met up with family here for a Sunday brunch! This was halfway for both of us from where we lived. We drove about 1.5 hrs and it was worth it! The restaurant is cozy but cute and more importantly the food was great!
I had the cup of lobster bisque to start- which threw us all off when it came in a coffee “cup” (we were like I didnt order coffee! lol)- but it was really good. My fiance had the tuna app called fire and ice and that was delicious! Perfect portion and great flavor.
I had their caesar salad with grilled shrimp.It was a big portion with 5 shrimp and was very filling. Fiance and BIL had one of the benedicts and it looked great and was loaded up with lump crab! My SIL had the the short rib grilled cheese and she said it was really good! We all left happy and STUFFED!
We sat and chatted for a good two hours there and we were never rushed out. We would definitely go back to try more of their menu and explore the town some more!

Stopped in for dinner while in the area. Background Blues Bar& Grill is located in the small town of Port Deposit along the Susquehanna River. They are an upscale American restaurant. We had octopus ceviche, crab cakes, and lamb chops. Everything was excellent. The service was friendly and efficient as well. We will certainly return.

We had our first visit to Backfin Blues Bar & Grill and the experience was exceptional! From the friendly and professional service to the delicious food and inviting atmosphere, everything was perfect. The filet steak was incredible, and the homemade Broken Potatoes were outstanding. We topped our dinner off with the homemade Key Lime Pie, which was great. Definitely a 5-star experience — we’ll be back again very soon!

Visited Friday night before Christmas when I learned that the hardest months in the restaurant business are DEC, JAN, FEB and I didn’t want to miss out! It was so amazing I came back the next night for a full dinner- octopus ceviche and a special salad and the bean soup. It’s an unassuming soup, traditional Italian life-giving fare that you might want to include in your January blues and holiday recovery, I loved it! Everything was superb, delicious and beautifully presented. Make reservations for prime time Saturday night or sit at the bar, you won’t be miserable for coming in on your own. Great service! Treat yourself! Another Saturday I had takeout- Lobster Ravioli! There’s Lobster in the sauce AND in the ravioli. Unbeatable! Come early for Sunday brunch – the kitchen closes before closing time- an hour before on Sundays. There is no brunch after 2pm.

Perfect. Started with fire and ice appetizer, which was Ahi, wasabi, and sauce… the sweet sauce with the kick of the wasabi was the perfect balance. The fillet mignon was medium rare, and was cooked evenly, the peppercorn added great flavor without taking away from the natural flavor of the steak itself. Mashed potatoes with caramelized onion.. need I say more, nope. Best potatoes this belly ever had. The rib eye steak with blue cheese butter; melt in your mouth delicious. As for the dessert, I have never tried creme brulee, and decided to give it a go here.. it was a great dessert to top off the amazing dinner. If I could give 6 stars, I would. I’m glad we decided to have our date night here, and would definitely be back. Our server Kaitlin was awesome, she understood this girls need for the tasty rolls and dessert. If you’re looking for a spectacular meal, this is the place.

We are out of town guests visiting the nearby Great Wolf Lodge. We celebrated a birthday with a party of 16 people. The service was stellar. Coral was our server and she took excellent care of us providing super friendly and top notch service. We loved her. Our food was fabulous. Everyone enjoyed their meals including four kids. Great kids menu. Standouts were the crab dip, Chilean sea bass with shitake cream sauce, shrimp and grits, seafood pasta, and crab cake. Short rib gnocchi was a tad salty. Everyone’s meal came out timely and hot. Chef Bob worked his magic in the kitchen. Parking lot was full so took a little longer for everyone to arrive. We will definitely visit again. We heard they have a great brunch.

Our server, Bailee, was GREAT! She gave great advice when we asked for it and was very attentive to my wife and I. That being said, we went during Sunday brunch. The food was good, just thought it would be better. For example, I got the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict. The description said Colossal Crab. My expectation was to have more than just two small pieces of crab. See picture attached. Kinda crazy that the best part of our meal was the Rosemary Home Fries. Not sure I would come back for dinner at those prices if the main ingredients are skimpy.
