Reviews
The crab dip was wild. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. I barely blinked and it was gone.
And the service? Just as good as the food. Everyone was friendly, on top of things, and made the whole experience feel easy and relaxed. You don’t always get both good food and good service in one place, but they nailed it. The bartender was fast with our drinks and fast to make sure we didn’t need anything.
If I’m in Cleveland, I’m eating at Backdraft. No question about it. It’s the kind of spot that makes you want to come back before you’ve even left.
Helmets, hoses, signs and flags adorn the whole place.
Fire-themed entrees, apps and salads. This is true commitment to the cause.
The lunch is great. Today we had the burger with fries and the grilled chicken sandwich with ladder sauce and a side salad.
The burger was seasoned and cooked to order. The bun was excellent, good quality, lightly toasted and branded!
The fries were great too. Thick cut steak fries, fried crispy and seasoned.
The grilled chicken sandwiches excellent. A juicy chicken breast and the ladder sauce had just a kick. Again, the bun was excellent.
Side salad was a side salad. Cold greens, good 1,000 island and a nice fresh option.
Lots of other dishes available and we heard good things about the past dishes and appetizers, but we didn’t try them today.
Service was friendly and efficient.
Will return…UPDATE. Did return for dinner.
Again, friendly service. Great dinner. Good filet. Great loaded potato. Good drinks.
No complaints.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was not greeted by the hostess. I approached her and mentioned I was there to pick up an order. She took my name and went to the kitchen, returning shortly to say there was no order under my name. Another woman came out, also without a greeting, and asked if I had proof of purchase. I was confused but showed the confirmation. Then, yet another staff member acknowledged the order and asked if I still wanted it. I said yes, and requested to speak with the manager.
I sat at a table and waited. After about five minutes, a young man came from the kitchen and asked, “Are you the lady with the problem?” I clarified that I was a paying customer who hadn’t received her order. He immediately became combative and told me that if I was “going to say that,” he wouldn’t help me. He then claimed to be the owner and said he didn’t have to do anything for me. I asked for a refund or a resolution, and he refused to engage, eventually stating he would call the police.
I was simply trying to get the food I paid for. Instead, I was met with rudeness, dismissal, and eventually police involvement—all due to the owner’s unwillingness to take responsibility for a missed order and provide basic customer service.
As someone who frequently travels and supports local businesses, I’ve never been treated so poorly. A simple apology and correction of the mistake would have sufficed. Instead, I was made to feel like a nuisance and was treated as though I was trying to get something for free.
“It’s clear that this establishment suffers from a serious lack of professional
decorum, organizational skills, and basic customer service respect for all patrons.”
