One star only because the building didn’t collapse.
I went to Backtrack Bar and Grill last night with four friends to celebrate my birthday, and I honestly wish we had turned around and left the moment we walked in.
The very first thing the bartender said to us was not “hi” or “welcome,” but “how long are you going to be here and how many people are coming?” because she was by herself. While we understood she was alone, the way it was said was extremely rude and set the tone for the entire night.
From there, it only went downhill. There were no quarters for the pool table, so we were told to get our own. Multiple liquors were supposedly “not available,” even though they were visibly sitting right in front of us behind the bar. The drinks we were served were so weak they were basically mixers, I had four drinks and felt absolutely nothing. Barely any liquor, yet full price.
When one of my friends asked if she could order food because she was hungry, the bartender flat-out refused and said she wasn’t making food because she was alone. Then my wife asked for a Bloody Mary and was told they “didn’t have what was needed,” which somehow seems unbelievable for a bar.
The only reason the night wasn’t a total disaster is because we made our own atmosphere and refused to let one incredibly rude bartender ruin my birthday. The service, drinks, and food were all a complete zero.
If you’re looking for good service, decent drinks, or basic hospitality, this is not the place. Horrible bartender, terrible service, and an overall experience that made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying customers.

Worst food ever. Ordered steak medium rare got it well done and it’s also the thinnest steak I’ve ever seen. One egg was over cooked one egg was undercooked one egg was all I ate because that’s all I could stomach but I was hungry. The bread was super soggy, if it wasn’t for the faint toast marks I would’ve said that it wasn’t toasted at all and the crust was just ripped off of it and thrown around the box. The home fries that we didn’t know we’re included (and wish they weren’t) were under cooked and also had gross soggy sour tasting vegetables. We ordered mozzarella sticks and they were mostly just hollow shells of breading and grease. I ordered this through door dash and had to call the store 30 minutes after putting the order through because it wasn’t confirmed and I guess they had to reboot their system. The woman I spoke with was very nice but that cook should be fired. I’m also serve safe certified and this is the lowest quality of food that I’ve ever ordered from anywhere. I would’ve certainly gotten my moneys worth if I had just ordered from McDonald’s. My sister and I got the same thing so it’s everything times two. both of our orders were terrible. And it was over $60 minus the delivery fee. I’m glad I was able to post photos here because I was not on door dash. Thank goodness I was able to get a full refund on top of a $20 credit for the inconvenience from door Dash.

Bartender kept going MIA. Had trouble getting quarters for the pool table and got a rude attitude when I asked for $5.00 worth. Kitchen was closed. There was a note on the door that said they were going to be closed from 8:30pm to 9:30 pm but after being somewhere in the kitchen for about 20 minutes the bartender emerged to tell us they were going to close early at 7pm.

My son (13 years old) and I popped in here for dinner last night as everything else in town appears to be closed on Mondays and Tuesdays (I’m guessing a staff shortage). This place definitely has more of a bar vibe than a restaurant vibe, but we enjoyed it! There were two women working and two women at the bar when we arrived. Service was super friendly and the food was good. The only reason I knocked off a star is because I ordered the Bacon Mushroom Cheeseburger, but I received a regular cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato. The woman cooking was so sweet and so kind (she came out to ask my son exactly what he wanted on his burger and she was just adorable), that I didn’t have the heart to tell her I received the wrong order. That aside though, the burger I got was really good! After eating, one of the women at the bar played a game of pool with my son (open pool table on Mondays and Tuesdays) while I sat talking to the bartender. I’m so glad we stopped in here. Everyone was so friendly and my son and I had a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be back…if for no other reason than to sharpen his pool game! 🙂

Stopped for a bite to eat after traveling all day. On a rainy nasty day. My husband and I had the best steak grinders and onion rings at the Back Track. Everything was fresh, delicious. Nat was very friendly and welcoming.

How does this dump come up with the restaurants? No kitchen staff like a restaurant would have. No servers. Just one person running around doing it all. Microwaving frozen store bought meat balls and reheating old pasta in the filthiest kitchen, with you guessed it, no staff to clean it. Yum.

Owner was extremely rude and from past experience is incredibly abusive to their staff. Totally toxic environment. They can not keep quality employees and it shows. The owners have a horrible reputation in the town. It’s hard to believe they are even still open. Do yourself a favor and stay away!!
Ok after the lies of the owner let me update my review… It was the owners wife…. Just shows this man’s narcissistic tendencies !! I guess his wife is just a another employee. Doesn’t surprise me that he thinks so little of her as he thinks so little of anyone that works for him.
They are not even open for breakfast anymore. Why? Because he can not keep staff! Not one thing I have said if fabricated. And these sentiments are NOT from a small few! They are shared by many. 90% of the regulars moved to another location because of the owners treatment of staff!!
Its a shame that one man ruined a 100 year old family business in such a short period of time.
