This was our first time here. The atmosphere is quaint. Our server was friendly and attentive. My wife had the Peppercorn dip and I had the Grilled Sourdough BLT. Both were exceptional! Pricing was reasonable for the quality received.

Initially I was not impressed by the service. Took quite awhile for me to be greeted, than they had me seat myself and eventually I got a menu. After being in the restraunt, this is clearly a local spot because most people just came in and sat down on their own.

Aa far as the food goes, perhaps my judgement is not super fair because I didnt get anything truly “barbecue” but here are my thoughts.

The chili had a nice kick to it, the onions served with it were nice and fresh. However the chili itself had almost no flavor and was quite bland.

The French fries were well salted and clearly cooked to order as the came nice and hot on my plate. Personally I like my fries a bit crisper but that comes down to preference I think. You could always order your fries well done im sure.

The burger was quite good. I got the butch Cassidy and It had a lovely barbecue char on the outside and was still juicy and tender on the inside. The same fresh onions on the chili made an appearance on the burger. And the crispy onions were clearly made in house which was a nice touch. Personally I would hope for a bit mpre sauce but the burger itself really did the talking.

Overall its not a must have spot in my opinion, but if you find yourself in jacksonville looking for a barbecued meal I do not think they will disappoint you

We have dined here many times over the years. I truly enjoyed the beef brisket I had tonight. The brisket was cooked to perfection and was very tender. The portion was very generous.
My wife had a huge Cob salad that she was unable to finish.
We ordered a piece of the Mud Pie for dessert to share and was surprised by its enormous size. If you enjoy ice cream you can’t go wrong with the Mud Pie.
Overall, I can’t think of a better place to have some BBQ in the Rogue Valley.

Rosemary prime rib dinner specials on Friday & Saturday starting at 5:30pm. Delicious and a good price. New York steak dinner is also delicious for those that can stomach 16oz of beef in a sitting plus sides.

Got the beef brisket, parmesan fries and Caesar salad. One of the best salads I’ve ever eaten. Fries were delicious and not greasy, brisket was soooo tender I used my fork to cut it. The taste was of the brisket is something to remember. Whoever made it sure knows what they are doing. Will be back for another plate.

We ate here 2 months ago, and our food was delicious-not the case tonight; the brisket was dry, tough and flavorless (the fat cap had been removed, and it had 0 seasoning). The server asked if we wanted extra hot water for our 2 hot teas, then we were charged for 4 hot teas when the bill was brought out (apparently, you’re charged for each tea bag that is used…she corrected the bill after we explained we only used the original 2 tea bags of the entire tea caddy that she’d brought out, but still, who does that?). We brought my parents because the food had been so good 2 months ago, and wanted them to try it, but after this experience, we probably won’t come back. I will say that the bread pudding is still absolutely delicious, but consistency is important!

Best Ceasars salad ever! Hope you love garlic…the dressing is crazy good. Added the shrimp. Most places throw on some tasteless, boring shrimp but Backporch creates yummy, flavorful shrimp that are remarkable

We stayed in Jacksonville for a few days and every time we drove by, the parking lot was full. We decided to try it and we were not disappointed. The place was busy, the servers were friendly and the atmosphere was definitely eclectic. The Texas bbq brisket sandwich was delicious and so big we were able to share. The toasted garlic sourdough was so good and different from a roll. The fries were good, but could have stood to be a little hotter. We will be back and I would recommend it to anyone.
