You can’t know until you go. I’ve been hearing about this BBQ. It was not in my normal rib rotation, but it will be now. Lots of options. Lots of sides. I wanted to try it all. The ribs were tender and sweet. Delicious. The brisket was perfect. The cabbage and sausage was like a mild jambalaya ish New Orleans type vibe. So good. Slaw was very good too. I hope everyone eats here so i can keep eating here too! It was also about 30% cheaper in price than the other BBQ places i eat. This may be the new go to!

This is outstanding BBQ. They do traditional smoking method, which is delicious. They put much more thought and love into their sides. We have found our new favorite BBQ place in Little Rock. Also pictured is a Pulled Pork Sandwich topped with Coleslaw, Potato salad, with a Texas Twinkie. I highly recommend you try this restaurant. Oh and they are opened on Sundays.

Visited today after hearing a lot of positive reviews from my friend. Walking in, I could see the pits and got a quick pit tour from Clint. The briskets and other meats in the smoker looked fantastic and got me excited about what was to come. Clint was also finishing off some chicken wings so I knew I was going to have to at least add a few of those to the order to sample.
I decided just to order some of the different meats today and skipped out on any sides. Ordered a single slice of brisket, a few pork ribs bones, and 6ct order of buffalo wings. Everything I had was fantastic! I will definitely be back and I’m sure I’ll be bringing more people with me next time.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (and I wish I could give more!)
Back Home Barbecue is hands down the best barbecue in all of Arkansas! These guys are absolute pros — you can taste the passion and skill in every single bite. The meat is perfectly smoked, juicy, and packed with flavor from start to finish.
The staff couldn’t be friendlier — they really take their time with you, making sure you feel welcome and taken care of. The whole place gives off that true down-home, Southern comfort vibe that makes you want to sit back, relax, and enjoy every moment.
If you love good barbecue, do yourself a favor and check out Back Home Barbecue. You will not be disappointed — this place deserves all the stars and then some!

Avoid Back Home Barbecue especially if you’re a barbecue lover. But tourists looking to experience TRUE barbecue, be warned: this ain’t it. I’m usually hesitant about getting barbecue outside the Barbecue Triangle in Texas. But these days the Barbecue Triangle is getting suspect with the quality of the brisket served. Smoked brisket is the absolute defining barbecue entree in the Triangle. But I was passing through Little Rock Arkansas on New Year’s Eve and Back Home Barbecue popped up in a Google search as highly rated. I was hungry. They listed brisket on the menu. So I thought let’s give it a try. My test of a true barbecue joint is the brisket. It has to fit two criteria. 1. Is the brisket cooked to proper medium temperature? If brisket melts in your mouth IT’S OVERCOOKED! It may have even been boiled. 2. When I order fatty brisket, does the server give me lean brisket. This second point is increasingly common these days – disconcertingly even in the Triangle. Brisket lovers know the MOST desirable part of the brisket is the ball: this is the source of one of the most succulent culinary experiences for a human carnivore. Problem is there is more lean meat which comes from the flat. Maybe that’s why some barbecue joints have taken to using the terms “moist” or “wet” to refer to the ball meat. These terms are actually misleading. Ball meat has various degrees of marbling. Don’t be fooled. Wet looking lean meat is NOT fatty brisket. If you’re eating dense, chewy brisket IT’S LEAN MEAT. If you’re paying $18 to $25 PER POUND for barbecue, you should get what you ask for. It’s a deceptive business practice to serve lean brisket to a customer that asked for fatty brisket. What’s the difference? Ball meat from the brisket is interwoven with collagen rich, silky, sticky, fat that makes your lips shine as if you had just applied lip gloss. It is springy to chew if properly cooked. It should not melt in your mouth. I’ve included pictures of how TRUE fatty brisket looks. The last picture is the best example of the marbling you’re looking for. This brisket is from Naimans in Texarkana – admittedly on the Arkansas side of town but close enough to Texas. But I asked for fatty brisket and got it. That makes Naimans Barbecue pretty damn good to me.

I got the brisket. Was really good but the bark was pretty salty, so brace yourself. Supposedly, the zucchini salad is a great complement for it (according to the bartender upstairs). I know the coleslaw is also good (I ate it all, which is unusual for me) and the local IPA (Rockhound?) is also good. Their music definitely leans into country.
Afterwards, I went upstairs and got a Moon Garden and all was right with the world.

So I saw this place on Instagram a few months back and have been plotting my visit ever since. Luckily I had to be in Little Rock on business and I called the buddy of mine and asked if he wanted to go to lunch. Barbecue sounded great so we decided to give it a try.
I tried to order as much as possible on a budget! I’m pretty sure I blew that budget, but I had meals for three days which worked out even better.
Pork belly bites, they had great flavor and were tender. How can you go wrong with big chunks of bacon! Even reheated in the air fryer they were good.
Brisket very tender not as fatty as I had hoped. But it just depends on where they are at on the brisket when cutting. Great smokiness, good flavor, and a good bark.
Did not reheat as well due to the limited amount of fat.
Texas Twinkies. Probably my favorite item on the plate. Who doesn’t like bacon, cheese, jalapeños, and pulled pork.
Tasted great there, and reheated well in the air fryer.
Jalapeño cheddar sausage, this item was probably my least favorite unfortunately. Don’t give me wrong. It was good, but I’ve had way better. Would I get it again yes probably.
Coleslaw was great, had a lot of carrot in it and I couldn’t tell if that was Apple or not but they used it. It was a different flavor, which was great. It’s always good to try. New twist on coleslaw.
Smoked sausage and cabbage. The best side I have. I was shockingly surprised at the tenderness of the cabbage and the depth of flavor provided. I will definitely get this again.
Overall, this place was a great experience and I look forward to my next visit.

Always delicious food with a very friendly staff. Can’t go wrong with pulled pork, brisket, or ribs. Tasty Cole slaw and corn for sides, too. Regrettably management does not plan well. At 3pm on a Saturday, they were already out of ribs and potato salad and making apologies. When you are open until 8pm, missing your mark by 5 hours is not good. There seems to be plenty of staff available – at least 5 workers were visible, so the planning that results in a Saturday afternoon without one of your signature items through the dinner hour (not to mention all the football games) is a serious miscalculation. If you want ribs, call ahead.

My family and I dined in at Back Home Bbq yesterday. We all ordered different items from the menu so that we could share and sample. We had brisket, smoked turkey, pulled pork, regular and cheese sausages and also the pork belly. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. The sides were seasoned really well. My entire family enjoyed everything. We were a little disappointed because they had sold out of ribs and a few other sides, but that just gives me a reason to return soon lol! It was a pleasantly peaceful atmosphere and experience. The staff was very friendly. I was even given a tour of the upstairs upcoming bar and lounge. Can’t wait to check it out. This spot is definitely going on my favorites list
