1st visit. Service and food were great! Tried the egg roll sampler and loved the different egg rolls and sauces. Philly Mac and cheese was also a hit. Basically everyone liked what they ordered.

My husband had the brisket eggrolls and said they were good. I had the taco platter and it was not good at all! It was just ground chuck and no seasoning or sauce, some lettuce, a little cheese and a little tomato. It was very dry and tasteless!! I had salsa on the side and that just tasted like cut up tomatoes, no seasoning!! Very disappointing!! My husband tried to eat two out of three of my tacos and said they were terrible and he bit into hard grizzle or bone! We will not be back!!

Stopped in on a Friday night, parking lot was packed and thought it may be a minute before we would be able to get a table but we put our name in, grabbed a beer at the bar and were called in about 10 minutes to be seated. Our server, Abby, was courteous and prompt with her service. She checked in multiple times to see how things were going or if we needed another beer. Great selection of food on the menu, my favorites would be the different egg rolls varieties. Hard to choose between crab Rangoon, southwest and Philly cheesesteak. Although the place was packed, the service was still surprisingly very good.
My only gripe would be the bathroom and parking. The former is quite small and would likely leave me squeezing cheeks until I got home if the choice presented. Parking lot is dirt.

We stopped looking for something different on our ride through Houghton Lake. We loved this place! The food was GOOD! The pretzels with cheese, street corn tacos with chips and queso, truffle fries, and boneless wings. Nice work Back Door! Thanks for serving some good food. Its hard to find these days!

We ate here over the holiday weekend. Very busy. They will take your name and number to text when your table is ready. We stood for about an hour to be seated. Was told 45 minutes to 1 hour wait. Other people coming in were told anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours, depending on the party size. There is no room to stand. Just the hallway, but that was where the employees come in and out of part of the kitchen where the sliding barn door is. Unfortunately, I have a hard time sitting at a high top table, but that is where we were seated. Took a long time for the waitress to acknowledge us. Got our drinks, order an Appitizer. Then, we placed our order and never got the appetizer before the dinners came. Waitress completely forgot it. She never came and asked us how we were doing or to check on us. Very disappointing. Fish dinner, cod, was delicious! Large portions. Tartar sauce was good too. I loved the fries. They were big, like steak frys but thinner with seasoning on them. Did not like the coleslaw. No flavor or more on the sour side. As the fried cod pieces sit on the thin paper on your little tray, the paper gets soggy and will start to tear, and you may accidentally eat some. Yes, we will be back.

We’ve had a place on Higgins for 20+ years and this is the best place on both lakes. I couldn’t even stop to take a “before” picture. The burgers, egg rolls, bowls, all of it is so good.
