Back Country Deli | The Best Place to Get Great Food
Reviews
I would have given this a higher rating, but my experience was very disappointing. I brought a group of guys in on a Saturday and was told it would not be a problem for us to stay for a while. We stayed about an hour and 45 minutes. I told the staff we would be doing this almost every Saturday with about 10 to 15 people. At first, they thought it was great for business.
The first visit went without a hitch and everyone enjoyed themselves, so we were looking forward to our second visit. When we arrived the following week, I mentioned we had about 16 people that day. The woman behind the counter told me she didn’t think it was going to work out. She said two people complained the week before because they couldn’t find a seat. I asked her how it is a complaint if a guest comes in and the place is just full. To me, that just means you are doing good business. It is not a legitimate complaint if someone sees a full house and cannot sit down immediately.
It felt like she was just looking for an excuse to dismiss us. As I walked to the dining area, I saw signs freshly written on butcher paper with a Sharpie that said “please don’t be rude and stay in the dining room for more than 45 minutes.” I asked her if she put those signs up just for us. She admitted she did because the owners told her to.
That was the last time I was there. I have not recommended this place to anyone, nor would I. The only reason I am not giving it one star is because the food was okay. It wasn’t fantastic, but it was okay. If you want a better Deli, try Antonio’s Gourmet Deli in Medford. The pricing is better, the food is fantastic, and the accommodations are incredible.

Editing my reference to Antonio’s Deli above because it has since closed. The new owners, operating under the name Paradise Deli, refuse to accommodate this large group of people. Our group eventually grew to 20 plus people every single Saturday. The original owners of Antonio’s were fantastic, but the new owners at Paradise Deli leave much to be desired.
sandwich, toasted ,buttered bagel and coffee. Everyone was perfect; food quality, wait time, efficiency, accurateness of the order and the friendliness of the workers! I will definitely be stopping there again soon!
