My family and I loved the Back Country Cafe SO much! The staff were friendly, service was great and the food was amazing. We ordered the burrito with chorizo, juevos rancheros, a burger/fries and blueberries pancakes with eggs and sausage. Ended with the most delicious cinnamon rolls that they warmed up for us! We ate every bite and are going to try to return when we drive through on our way home.

Great service, coffee, and outdoor seating. The vegan scramble here was decent. The scramble obviously wasn’t created with vegans in mind (and you can’t blame them for that), since when it’s modified to remove the eggs it is very small. That said, the server really made every effort to elevate the meal, adding avocado and even lowering the price to account for the smaller portion size. I have never been to a single restaurant that offered to lower the price like this, and it was very much appreciated. This is an outstanding example of how a restaurant can help people with diets that are outside of their core customer base.

Can’t say enough great things about this place, extremely friendly and seated a party of 5 right away, great spot on the patio. Server was extremely friendly and took great care of us including my sister’s five year old son. Food was outstanding, definitely will be coming back and highly recommend!

If you’re getting breakfast in Gunni, this is really the only place to go. Nowhere else compares! The lovely ladies working are always so welcoming, friendly, and attentive. The food is consistently hot and delicious. Portions are generous and we lick our plates clean every time!

Monique was our server, she was very nice and helpful with menu suggestions! Cinnamon roll was delicious and not overly sweet just well balanced. Chicken and waffles was very good! Crispy chicken/not dry and the waffle was light crispy outside and fluffy inside. Scrambled eggs were actually cooked well(most places overcooked them) and the blueberry pancakes were also delicious. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu!

I don’t give a lot of 5 stars to restaurants because it must be really out of this world to get 5 stars from me. It’s rare. There are a lot of 4 and 4.5’s out there so I reserve the 5’s for the ones who really kill it.
These ladies really did an excellent job. I haven’t seen this many staff in one place all week in the valley. It improved their service immensely. They kept the water filled and even brought a pitcher for our part of 5. Others cleared plates and filled coffee. They kept us informed of where we were on the wait list during our short wait too.
The build your own omelette was the best item we tried. It had amazing flavor and held together well. I wish the pumpkin pancake had more flavor but it was good. The fruit stuffed walked weren’t actually ‘stuffed’ but had fruit on top. The only real complaint I have is the table syrup over really maple syrup but I know it’s expensive. We also enjoyed the chicken and waffles and a chicken sandwich.
The restroom and entire place were clean. The staff were friendly. We enjoyed the murals on the walls and the atmosphere. We’ll be back (next year)!

Food was prepared as ordered and tasted good. The Waitress provided excellent service. She got the order right, checked for coffee refills, and answered questions about the town. The restaurant and Bathrooms were clean. There is wifi that worked well.

3 stars for the costumer service, food was delicious but order a skillet not a plate, the server was a hold lady super pushing me to order , was not nice, we order some coffe and hot chocolate, the chocolate was horrible and disgusting, she yes said if you don’t like it you can go next door is a coffee shop, she was rude, I been in this place before in the past 4 yr and this is the first time I not happy with this visit

Atmosphere is more than 5 stars.
For those that want Gunnison style food, especially a big breakfast this is the best. Rates very high compared with any place in Colorado featuring this style of food. Even beyond.
Sausage, biscuit, gravy, egg, pancake, chicken fried steak, you get the picture. Food is as big as the mountains.
