The food was delicious except the cinnamon roll was hard! The service was good, but the prices were pretty high. It was rather loud, but that just shows they were busy and popular!

Great food, fun atmosphere, incredible service. We were passing through town, had a very sad event happen in our family, and Sidney took such wonderful care of us – with some heaping helpings of kindness and compassion. This is what a family run restaurant is all about: Dog friendly patio, fabulous food, and happy staff that all support each other with a smile. Thanks for helping us thru a really rough day with a great comfort meal and such kindness!

We had the nicest server ever. She was super attentive and helpful. The food was flavorful and came out fast. We sat on the back patio. It was very chill and warm.

If you’re in Gunnison and in need of a delicious breakfast to cure your hangover, Back Country Cafe is the place to go! I had the Breakfast Gyro and it was absolutely amazing. The flavorful gyro meat, fresh veggies, and fluffy eggs all wrapped up in a warm pita was the perfect combination to get me ready for my college graduation. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made for an overall great experience. Highly recommend!

A great breakfast place! The service was incredible, very attentive. The bacon was great and the eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were really good and crispy. The pancake was HUGE, it was cooked well and had great flavoring. I’ll definitely eat here again, worth the short wait.

Emily was our server and she did such an excellent job, she was on it immediately any time we needed something. The food was tasty too, I got the toasted hippy sandwich with tziki sauce on it and it was very good. Also got one of their coffee cocktails and it was great as well! Would definitely come back.

Great local café. I had a great Greek omelette and the kitchen had no problem changing out the cheese and adding mushrooms. Homemade biscuits and good gravy. This is where the locals hang out and for good reason. We read that the toast isn’t buttered and that is true. I think maybe ihop if that’s your expectation of a good breakfast.

Drove in from Lake City, stopped here for a quick lunch, before doing errands in Gunnison. I decided to have breakfast instead. I ordered a 2 egg breakfast with hashbrowns, sausage, and a biscuit with gravy. Everything was delicious except the gravy. I’m a Texas girl. I love me some white gravy, or white sausage gravy. It was the grossest I’ve ever eaten. I only took one bite and it was a big “nope.” My husband said the reuben sandwich was delicious. I liked the place, but all the signs about “not camping,” or as I read it, “don’t sit at your table too long” were rude. We get it. You’re busy. The service was excellent. Friendly waitstaff. But, if I want to come in with some friends and visit for a little bit over a nice meal, I should feel free to do so. The prices were high. It costs us $36.09, plus $1.44 for using a credit card, plus tip. $36.09 for breakfast and a sandwich. Surely I can relax with my husband and/or my friends if I want to, instead of feeling rushed.
