Our group of 6 had dinner Sunday at 5pm, very nice local spot with a decent variety on the menu. Service was excellent, prices are average. Decent kids menus, good value. Shrimp tacos are good, chicken curry wrap was good with pasta salad, drunken burrito is also good. Soft pretzels are ok, not true Bavarian, but two with dipping cheese French fries were hot, fresh and crispy and appreciated! They also have a good variety of beer on tap and happy hour until 6pm. We’ll be back!

Back 40 A1A is hands down one of the best spots in St. Augustine Beach!
Their burritos are on another level. I tried the Wet Burrito and it was massive, fresh, and loaded with flavor—definitely big enough to share (though I didn’t want to ). On another visit, I went for the Drunkin’ Burrito and wow… smothered in queso, cheesy, and absolutely delicious.
The portions are generous, the food comes out quickly, and everything tastes homemade. The vibe is relaxed and beachy, perfect for grabbing a meal after a day on the sand. Friendly service, pet-friendly outdoor seating, and consistently amazing food make this place a must-try.
If you’re in the area and craving a burrito, Back 40 A1A will not disappoint.

Service was fantastic and food was decent! There is indoor and outdoor seating available. We enjoyed the gumbo, the jerk chicken wrap, the gouda dip was delicious! The shrimp and chicken tacos could have used more flavor. Would like to come back to try different items on the menu!

We visited this little shop because it was within walking distance of our Airbnb. I ordered the Island Bowl, and it was absolutely delicious. It came with a generous portion of greens, green onions, cheese, and black beans. I added jerk chicken for extra protein, which was a great choice. I was so full afterward—I’m glad we had to walk back! The service was phenomenal, the prices were reasonable, and the atmosphere was relaxed and breezy. This place is truly a hidden gem by the sea.

The grits were very cheesy and the ham mixture super flavorful with grated Parmesan springI think it would have been better with just buttered grits (with no cheese), but it was a huge serving and still very good. I probably wouldn’t order it again because it’s super rich.

So far we’ve eaten at Back 40 A1A three times on our vacation to Crescent Beach. Every occasion was spectacular and delicious. The salads are outstanding. The vegetables are fresh and tasty. The menu is very healthy and so are the portions. The staff is friendly and service is excellent. The gallery walls offer an artsy ambience and there is a vibrant energy about the place. We had the salads twice and tacos once. The Key Lime pie is great too.

Food was really tasty for the prices they charge. The menu has quite a selection of flavors as well. Had a monorcan shrimp taco, ahi tuna taco and Cajun Mahi taco with a side of rice and beans. All very delicious.

What a gem. The wife and went for dinner around 5pm. The service was very good. We both had salads that were excellent. We also had a couple of adult drinks that were refreshing. I gave 3 stars only because it was in a small strip mall. Parking was easy. It started getting crowded right after we arrived. I would go back.

Visited this eatery/restaurant for a late lunch and the setting was cozy, quaint and intimate. The server was very attentive to our needs and provided excellent service. I had the Thai Chicken Salad which was tasty and filling. Huge portions with very reasonable prices. Another must visit if you’re happen to be in the area.
