Being from Chicago I was definitely craving an Italian beef. I was on my way home and decided to swing by here, because I’ve been meaning to try Baby Al’s and I’ve heard great things. They did not disappoint!

First off let me tell you it’s super small, family run business. Another customer that was there, shared the same. He had been coming here for years and loved the food.

I was craving an Italian beef I ordered an Italian beef, hot peppers, dipped. I also decided to try the fries.

The fries, I ate on the way home they were so HOT and CRISPY, I couldn’t wait till I got home. Very good! They don’t add salt, but they do have salt, pepper, and seasoning that you can always add. It’s right by the counter.

The Italian beef is actually nicely wrapped and put in a bag so the juice doesn’t drip out. I thought this was amazing and thoughtful.

The beef itself is flavorful, the hot peppers made it better! I had them dip it. Next time I’m definitely going double dipped. I would like a little more flavor from the juice.

They have daily specials as well! Next time I’m coming back for the Chicago dogs!

I went here for the first time on 12-30-2025. The food is cooked to order. Delicious I got the Italian Beef Sandwich Combo dipped with fries and a can soda. I placed my order and didn’t have to wait a long time for it to be given to me. The quality of the food is good and the quantity. No disappointment definitely worth the trip. It’s delicious food at a good restaurant. My order was $15.80 something like that I didn’t keep my receipt.

Baby Al’s hit the spot! Located off Indian Trail in Lilburn is the sweet hidden Chicago Gem! I ordered the Wednesday Special: (Baby Beef Sandwich, Chicago Dog, and Fries) I got the sweet peppers vs the hot peppers and I also got it without onions. You can order the baby beef dipped, dry, or sauce on the side. Let’s talk about how affordable it was. I got out the door for $10.70.

This made for the perfect lunch and they were really quick about getting my order out to me.

I enjoyed my turkey polish but none of us liked the fries. The food is definitely on the pricier side but the staff were really nice. They have crazy hours that we struggle to meet, so this was the first time we caught them open. I think I’d try them again just not soon. No public restrooms.

Baby ALs was a great find! The Italian beef sandwich was delicious—I loved pouring the wet sauce on it, and the peppers added a nice kick. The Italian beef fries were a tasty bonus! The older lady at the counter was a bit temperamental, but I got past it with a smile. Overall, solid food and a fun vibe. I’ll be back for more! 4 stars.

I should have just purchased a hot dog. I purchased the supposedly turkey Maxwell polish, and I was very disappointed. The polish was small, and it was not a real Chicago Maxwell polish at all! The onions, and peppers were not even like Maxwells. As a Chicago native, we will come for you when you’re representing to be a food establishment from the Chi, and it’s not good. Also, we will let you know if it was a hit, and that polish was not it. What a waste of $8.55. I am so glad that I decided to not order the Italian beef sandwich because I probably would have been even more disappointed. I will wait until Portillos opens in Kennesaw to get me a beef.

In response to the owner, I never said that I wanted it to taste like a beef polish. The point is, the polish is NOT similar to a Maxwell polish at all (not even the onions). Like another review stated ” this is a knock off” for a Chicago restaurant. Yes, I like Johnnie’s as well.

Born and raised in Chicago here. Ive missed Chicago food so much especially a good italian beef and some pizza puffs. My belly is so happy to have found this gem. I came here monthly all throughout my pregnancy to fulfill my cravings.

Grew up working beef stands in the Chicago area. Live in Oregon now and visited the fam out here as well as looking for a small town to settle. I was just given my sign. Beef was delicious with a perfect dip (not soup). Be back and maybe ask for a nostalgic job
