Got the chubby cheeseburger basket with Suzy Q’s and a drink for lunch. The burger was really good and well done. The Suzy Q’s were great as well. Definitely recommend checking them out if your in the mood for a quick, good bite to eat. The staff was friendly and the place was clean.

This place hasn’t changed since the day I was born & it makes my heart happy. ♥️ My grandmother lived 4 houses down from Babe’s for 35+ years so this was a go-to every time I visited. The chubby cheese burger, taco salad, Frito pie and cherry limeade are staples for me.

I went here with my boyfriend and we both agree that the food is delicious! We both had the chubby burgers, he had tots (that were VERY crunchy!) and I had shoestring fries as a side. The ingredients are fresh, especially their cherry limeade. I’m allergic to mushrooms, and they were very reassuring and accommodating to my allergy. Definitely recommend stopping by!

Usually the food is great, but the kids meal hamburger meat is ridiculously small…look at the size of this patty…it’s pretty much just a bun with cheese and two bites of meat. Needless to say, my kid was pretty disappointed.

If you are anything like me? You can’t hardly beat the atmosphere! It’s very down home and welcoming very relaxed atmosphere, the staff are extremely friendly and my son and I found that outside of just handing them the cash? There’s no way to leave them a tip? And surprisingly to my oldest son and myself they said that rarely comes up? And they earn them tips believe me! I was there one night at 8pm and the young lady helping me said she had been there since the morning. So I’m just suggesting that if you eat there, and you feel like they gave you extremely good service? A tip would be very nice of you and I know it would be appreciated. (Now I don’t know anyone who works there, and I know it’s uncouth of me to bring up tipping at a restaurant, but I just feel that if anyone deserves a tip that’s probably not getting one? It’s them and car hops not to leave anyone out? They just came to mind) enjoy!

We Love the small diners. Babes claim to fame is the Chubby Cheese. A double stacked cheeseburger. The boys both got those and we’re not disappointed. I ventured out and tried a tamale. It wasn’t bad. Not quite what we folk from Colorado are used to as far as tamales, but not bad. I think it would be good or better perhaps served with corn chips. Would eat here again if we are ever in the area. Friendly staff. Full of locals enjoying a quick meal. Staff constantly cleaning up after patrons and whatever needs may come about. Service easy and food served quickly and hot. Tater tots cooked to golden perfection.

Good food with good natured staff. The onion rings are hand made this sliced and are hard to match. Top it off with a hot fudge sundae or peanut butter shake and you’ll be set for a real treat!

I’ve been in and out of Joplin since I was a baby. Always been able to stop at babes and enjoy their chubbies. Cheeseburger comes with mustard and onions and pickles. None of that silly ketchup or mayonnaise but you know you can get that too. Highly room recommend getting or trying spaghetti red if your not from the area

One of the best Diners I’ve been to. Burgers were juicy and really well seasoned, tater tots were golden and crispy, onion rings were lightly breaded and thinly sliced.
