Incredible setting, beautiful restaurant – even the napkins and cutlery were of high quality. Our waitress was lovely and very knowledgable about the wine and menu.
Loved th bread and butter with the botanical oils.
The dinner was ok – was a bit disappointed with my fish main as the skin was burnt and affected the taste of the whole piece. I also wasn’t really sure what fish it was as the waitress said it was salmon but I got a white fish. Nice sides which weren’t over faffy. The sauce was very good.
The starters tasty and simple and the desserts again v simple and nice, using the gardens ingredients to showcase the dish.
Our food experience has been amazing so far in South Africa so the competition is high but the lovely setting, quality ingredients and great staff made up for the main course not quite being up to our expectations.
A nice experience if you a go a bit early for a wander around the garden.

Absolutely exceptional. The food was fantastic, the service friendly, fast and accommodating, the atmosphere is nice. They have a set menu (2 or 3 course), with multiple options for each course. Each dish was flavorful, not overpowering, and offered multiple textures. Presentation was very appealing.
We came for lunch, were offered to sit indoors or outdoors, and chose outdoors. They had little mist fountains to keep the temperature down. There was plenty of space for our stroller. Reservation in peak season (even for lunch) 100% necessary! Expect to pay $$$

We had an absolutely incredible experience in Babel restaurant. The service from Janine and Quanique was exceptional. The atmosphere and ambience was perfect with a breathtaking back drop. The highlight on the food front was the beef fillet steak and the cob fish both were cooked great and so tasty. Would highly recommend !

Highly recommended. Delicious food prepared with local ingredients, very friendly waiters and nice atmosphere. The staff had a great attention to detail, and when my partner mentioned that she felt sick that day (for the avoidance of doubt, not because of the food served at Babel), they offered her a herbal tea. If you are visiting Babylonstoren, you should definitely try Babel.

The food and atmosphere are fantastic. The service we experienced was not as great – when we first approached the host was busy checking a list and didn’t even acknowledge or say hello. Our waitress was also a bit cold at certain points especially when I declined a glass a wine. We had the two courses – all very good. Maybe it was an off day for them? Other tables seemed happy.

This is a beautiful restaurant with so much character and the views stretch out over the mountains. Great service and wonderful food. Fresh, tasty well prepared and good value. Lamb cutlets a must. Great experience will return.

The best steak I have ever eaten. Served rare with exceptionally generous portion sizes, the steak melts in the mouth. With a picturesque scenery to match, the restaurant rivals any good Michelin establishment.

This place just gets better and better! Excellent, fresh farm food that is beautifully presented. We absolutely loved every bite! The service was also amazing, explaining every dish to us. It is not our first time enjoying lunch here, and we will definitely keep coming back 🙂

As a big fan of the Babylonstoren brand as whole I can’t help but feel this restaurant is nothing but a tourist trap. Very average food disguised as fine dining through elaborate and pointless garnishes, small portions and some fancy jargon on the menu. It is 2026 who still does Panna Cotta? I have eaten at much finer establishments for less. Won’t be back!

Could not believe how wonderful this restaurant was! We didn’t know entirely what to expect so we were surprised when they started bringing out the food and explaining that most of its grown onsite and then continued to explain the befits of each food.
The atmosphere in the restaurant is beautiful, white linen, with a modern farm feel. Nicely situated and open.
