We stayed at The Cove Hotel just around the corner and wanted something other than fast food within walking distance. We chose Baba’s. The food was very good, portions were huge, and the young man working there was friendly and efficient. While the menu was reduced from what was published online, there were still plenty of great options. This is a hidden gem.

This was my first time at Baba’s Cuisine. I was welcomed in with a warm greeting and felt like I was at home. Their food is authentic and fresh. I got the falafel sandwich and it was filled with flavorful spices and sauce! If you are looking for Mediterranean food in Long Beach look no further than Baba’s Cuisine!!

What an unfortunate experience. ☹️ I ordered a falafel sandwich for pickup. The sandwich was the smallest falafel sandwich I’d ever seen. A slim tube barely 2.5 inches in diameter for $12. Although the man who presented me with my order was nice, I was disappointed also to learn that any hot sauces were an additional charge. Costs are indeed increasing, so I hoped at least the flavors of the sandwich would offset the size and lack of additional items. Alas, the tahini sauce was overly salty, although creamy it had no rich sesame flavor. The sandwich itself did not have any pickled veggies and was sparsely dotted with cucumbers and jarred pickle slices. Falafel was soft all the way through and lacked crisp exterior. Totally disappointing.

We stopped here for takeaway fairly late in the evening and the food and service were absolutely outstanding. We ate every molecule of our platters like starving teenagers. This place is close to our neighborhood fortunately! Please give this place a try, it’s awesome!
