I stopped here on my way back to Connecticut after a meeting because I was craving good Pakistani food and found this place randomly on Google — I’m so glad I did.

I believe I spoke with the owner when I ordered over the phone. She was incredibly kind and patient while taking my order. I explained that I’m very picky and wanted my food prepared a very specific way, and she delivered perfectly.

The chicken karahi tasted homemade with a nice restaurant-style kick. The chicken biryani was delicious, and the naan was exactly how I requested — thin and perfect. I was even able to warm it up the next day and enjoy it, which rarely happens with naan from other places.

Overall, this is a wonderful family restaurant. When I arrived to pick up the food, I noticed her son helping out, which added to the warm, family-run atmosphere. The portions are also very generous compared to any Pakistani restaurant I’ve been to.

They’re running a great business. I will definitely be back and will likely be placing a catering order soon.

Thank you again!

We dined in yesterday afternoon. It took around 25 minutes for our food to come out. We ordered a $17 chicken handi curry (that doesn’t come with rice or naan), a $7 shammi kabab appetizer and a $18 chicken biryani, and a naan. The menu prices are attached to this review.

The chicken handi’s quantity to price ratio is extremely high. You can see the tablespoon for comparison to the size of the kadhai, and the size of the biryani, it was very small for the price we paid for it (especially considering no rice/bread comes with it!)

The chicken handi tasted like the gravy was cooked separately, and unmarinated chicken breast was mixed into into the gravy at the last moment— it did not taste like one cohesive dish, the chicken itself didn’t have any flavor or even salt (all the flavor was from the gravy) and was not worth the price we paid for it.

The chicken biryani was decent, but there was only one piece of a drumstick, 2 bony pieces of chicken with very small amounts of meat (pictured on my plate) and 1 medium, normal sized piece of chicken with the rest of the large pot consisting of biryani rice. The ratio of meat:rice is off but at least the $18 price tag is okay compared to the handi.

The naan was good, the shammi kabab was okay, and the “salad” was laughable— pieces of lettuce, one slice of an onion and a slice of lemon! Who eats biryani with lettuce on the side?

We ultimately did not voice our disappointment about the quantity & price because we knew that would not result in anything. We had to accept our loss that this was the quantity we were served and that is how much we have to pay for it.

We started ordering catering from Baba Tikka and it is so good! The biryani was delicious and just amazing (very rare to find) and the chicken handi was phenomenal too. Baba tikka has some really gifted cooks, this is a ticket back home for those that miss really good Pakistani / desi food. Thank you!

The food was incredible! It feels like a charming, family-run restaurant, and Suleiman, our server, was fantastic. We indulged in butter chicken and chicken biryani – both dishes were absolutely delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. Loved every bite and definitely recommend it!

We had one of the best halwa poori breakfast in town, after a long time! Also tried a couple of other breakfast items, all delicious but the parathas and the paya salan were chef’s kiss! 10/10 highly recommend.

Baba Tikka Restaurant definitely hit the spot! We ordered the chicken pulao, mixed grill, lamb over rice, carrot kheer, falooda, and gulab jamun — everything came out fresh, flavorful, and comforting.

The chicken pulao was aromatic and perfectly cooked, the mixed grill had a great smoky taste, and the lamb over rice was tender and well-seasoned. For dessert, the carrot kheer was rich, the falooda refreshing, and the gulab jamun warm and melt-in-your-mouth good.

Great food and overall a delicious experience. Highly recommend!

The food was okay, the price is a bit expensive. My butter chicken didn’t come with rice or any side and although the chicken was in a sauce it felt dry/overcooked and there was also an insane amount of grease on top that i had to skim off. My husband liked his roll and said he would get that again. I would go back again but try different items.

They did package my bag horribly and i didn’t notice until i got home. The yogurt sauce was all over the mat of my car.

It’s a nice little cozy spot close to Jersey City. The food and vibe reminded us of Pakistani authentic tasty khana. Seemed like a family owned place and the chef/owner with his wife came out to ask if everything was good. I really liked the goat and chicken karahi and samosa chat. Falooda was also pretty nice.
