Absolutely delicious—this place is a must-try. Every dish showed the chef’s passion for authentic Indian flavors, beautifully fused with a modern cocktail-night vibe. Their desserts and cocktails are a highlight.

Service & Management: 0/5
Sadly, the management ruined what could have been a perfect evening. My sister and I visited on a freezing winter night in NYC (December 2024) with a small, securely wrapped bag of lemons in our tote. Despite our confirmed reservation, the receptionist rudely assumed we intended to eat outside food and made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome from the start.

The tasting menu we ordered was incredible, but we were hurried to place our order and finish quickly because the kitchen was “closing soon.” If the restaurant plans to close, why accept reservations for that time? The entire dinner felt rushed.

After paying, we waited inside for our cab, only to be asked to step out into sub-zero temperatures so they could lock up. It was one of the coldest nights of the season.

I genuinely feel bad for the chef—their exceptional culinary talent deserves management that respects guests and complements the food. The kitchen is brilliant, but the hospitality was so poor it overshadowed the meal.

Stopped by Baar Baar for lunch and was really impressed. The space is beautiful and feels upscale but still relaxed. We had the malai paneer pinwheel, fries, and their chai , all vegetarian and all really flavorful. The pinwheel was rich and satisfying, and the fries were crispy with a fun twist of Indian spices. The chai was warm, comforting, and felt thoughtfully made, not just an afterthought. Prices are definitely on the higher side for lunch, but the quality and experience made it worth it. Great spot if you’re looking for elevated vegetarian options in the city.

If you’re looking for a nice place to eat, Baar Baar is a great choice! This fancy restaurant is perfect for special occasions, whether you’re celebrating with friends or having a family dinner. The atmosphere is elegant, making it a lovely spot for memorable meals.

Since it’s very popular, I recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a table. It fills up quickly, especially on weekends!

The menu features a nice selection of Indian dishes. It’s not too big, which is great because everything feels well thought out. There are plenty of tasty vegetarian options, as well as delicious choices for chicken, seafood, and red meat. The flavors are fantastic, and the food isn’t overly spicy, making it enjoyable for everyone.

Overall, Baar Baar is an excellent place for celebrating special moments with good food in a beautiful setting. Whether you love Indian food or are trying it for the first time, you won’t be disappointed. Just remember to book your reservation!

We visited Baar Baar for my birthday dinner and opted for the tasting menu, which included starters, a main course, dessert, and wine for about $60 per person. The entire experience was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious, and the presentation was on point. A special touch was when the chef himself came over to serve us the starters, which made the evening even more memorable.

The ambience of the restaurant was warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for a celebration. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m glad we chose Baar Baar for such a special occasion. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique and flavorful dining experience in NYC!

This is a top-notch Indian restaurant with a warm, intimate ambiance—perfect for a date. The Dal Puri is a must-order, and the stone fruit dessert is incredible! The BBQ ribs are a classic—you can’t go wrong. The lamb is cooked to perfection, melting in your mouth. The butter chicken is a bit on the salty side with a slight kick. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and the service was engaging and friendly. Definitely worth a visit!

Went to Baar Baar with a group of friends for dinner and it was a great experience! Our waiters were overall attentive. The drinks were delicious and fun. We ordered a variety of apps and entrees and were not disappointed with any of flavors! The one complaint I had was that we asked for a few things to not be spicy and we were assured that they would not be but they definitely were pretty spicy

I am so happy that I visited Baar Baar with my family. Coming from a core Indian spice palette, i loved each & every food item that we ordered. For small plates we had dahi puri where the light & airy yogurt mousse with the aloo masala create a medley in your mouth. We also ordered stuffed tandoori mushroom ( the best tandoori item I have ever tasted outside India in US) & my personal favourite Paneer chilli (chef’s kiss)!!
For large plates we had vegetable+ ricotta kofta, malai paneer pinwheel & dal makhni. All 3 dishes were with just the right amount of flavours & spice!! For desserts we ordered basque cheesecake & stone fruit cassata (my favourite)
Baar baar food was indulgent & lip smacking! I am sure the non- vegetarian dishes are equally tasty. Look forward to more trips to the restaurant!

Attended this fine establishment as special Mother’s Day treat. This has the perfect blend of flavor, energy, and presentation. The flavors are beautifully pronounced such as their smokey, but irresistible butter chicken, the sea bass just melts in your mouth, and those are just a sliver of what they offer. The staff is beyond impeccable and the Bollywood LIVE Music is a WELCOME addition. Gonna come here whenever I visit the Big City, that’s for sure! Only issue was the handling of the bill which should’ve been dealt with accordingly.

Amazing food excellent service and great location. My family had booked this for my 50th bday dinner party with friends and the restaurant staff made the evening spectacular. The set menu and food was excellent. They went above and beyond in getting the place decorated also. Will definitely recommend.

Loved the experience! The ambience, music, cocktails are excellent, and the food is very good.

The Kairi Mule and Hyderabad Gimlet were our favorites. The Chai Negroni is too bitter and avoidable, and Mumbai Margarita is quite good too.

Although all of the Indian dishes were good (we ordered predominantly vegetarian food), we weren’t wowed by any dish per se.

Looking forward to being back and trying their non-vegetarian fare, and other cocktails!

Update: We visited Baar Baar for one of its signature weekend brunches with the DJ belting out popular Bollywood music. While the overall experience was positive, no single dish stood out to us. Come for the hospitable service and the wonderful vibe, and for decent food.
