Reviews
Our initial interaction with the guy at host desk was that he did not smile and acted like it was an inconvenience to seat us! (He needs to work on his customer service skills!)
Our server was Hera, she was lovely and friendly completely opposite of the host. Hence the 3 star rating!
What we order:
1.) Basil Wings $9.00 a slight sweet taste with basil finish.
2.) Crab Rangoon $6.50 this was one of the better versions I have had all because of the very light and crispy outer shell and the lite creamy texture of the filling.
3.) Basil with ground Beef with a side of rice $14.00 the spice level is a 3 for this dish. Flavor of spice and seasoning were good.
4.) Lad Nah with beef $14.00 The noodles were cooked perfectly and the broccoli was firm and fresh. My only call out was that they could put less gravy in this dish.
I might give this spot another try, hoping things get better.
I stopped into Baan Thai today after visiting the Christmas festival in downtown Leavenworth. My arms were full with several items I had purchased at the market and from nearby local businesses. I was tired from walking and planned to call for a ride after I ate. When I asked to be seated in a booth, I explained to the hostess that I don’t have a car and had walked over with my belongings. From the start, the interaction felt a bit uncomfortable — she seemed unsure about me bringing items in, which set an odd tone for the visit.
I was seated and ordered a water and Pad See Ew with shrimp. The food was good, but the service this time was unusually distant. The waitress barely spoke to me — not that much conversation was needed, but the silence came across as rude and rather bizarre. The table was already set when I arrived, so there wasn’t much to do besides bringing my meal and drink. As I sat there, the atmosphere felt cold — not the dining area itself, but the people working there. Several staff members passed by me, including an older woman who may have been the owner, and none acknowledged me.
I eventually had to ask for my check after sitting unnoticed for quite a while. Even then, it was dropped off without any communication. I felt uncomfortable enough that after paying, I left and went to Station Brew House next door to have a Coke while waiting for my ride.
I’ve eaten here multiple times before and usually enjoy the experience, but today felt unwelcoming and out of character for this restaurant. The food is still good, but based on how I was treated, I don’t think I’ll be returning.
The food is the real highlight. Every dish feels fresh and well prepared, with authentic flavors and generous portions. The Pad Thai is balanced and satisfying, the curries are rich and aromatic, and the appetizers arrive hot and perfectly cooked. You can tell there’s genuine care in the kitchen.
Service is fast without feeling rushed, and the overall value for money is excellent. Whether you’re stopping in for a quick lunch or planning a relaxed dinner, this place delivers quality and consistency every time.
A great choice for anyone who enjoys authentic Thai cuisine in the Leavenworth area.
According to Google, there are two Thai restaurants in this town, so I plan to try the other one next time.
The male server seemed polite and professional with his tables, but the two female servers were very unfriendly. They made me feel like I was bothering them or taking up their time. It really gave me an uncomfortable impression.
I hope they can learn something from the male server when it comes to customer service. He seemed to know how to treat guests properly.
“Sticky Seats & Meh Eats – Not Exactly Thai’d Over”
I came in hungry and hopeful, armed with dreams of rich curry and wok-kissed noodles. I left with a mild case of disappointment… and possibly a layer of mystery-stickiness on my shoes.
I ordered the Pad See Ew and Tom Kha soup, two of my go-to Thai comfort dishes. The Pad See Ew? Kinda sad see ew. Noodles were limp, sauce was forgettable, and the whole thing felt like it wanted to be bold but ended up just… beige. The Tom Kha had all the creamy coconut promise, but tasted like it missed a few key ingredients—and maybe a hug. Not the worst I’ve ever had, but certainly not a reason to come back.
Now let’s talk ambiance: hot, humid, and suspiciously sticky. Every surface, including the air, felt like it had been lightly coated in sweet chili glaze and never wiped down. The chairs were being held together with duct tape—literal tape—and the whole place gave off “last-minute garage sale” energy.
Service? Not rude, but definitely not warm. It felt less like being served and more like interrupting someone’s day. Quick, blunt, and not particularly welcoming. I wasn’t expecting a five-star experience, but I’d at least like to feel like my presence wasn’t a burden.
Honestly, I’ve been to a lot of Thai spots, and this one just didn’t hit. Based on the number of glowing reviews, maybe folks around here haven’t had truly standout Thai food. Or maybe they’re grading on a curve. Either way, I’m probably not coming back unless someone else is buying.
We ordered a large number of items for a family get together and the people who had the pad Thai are all disgustingly sick.
We’ve ordered from here many times and have had okay experiences, but this was disastrous.
When I called to get a refund for the pad Thai specifically the owner was unsympathetic and rude.
At first she refused to take responsibility for the food, but then told me I had to see I doctor for proof that it was the pad Thai. A doctor will not be able to prove that the pad Thai was the cause. So she insisted I spend even more money to see a doctor then bring her proof that it was the pad Thai. What proof does she even want?
With everyone in bed, too sick to even get up, there was no possibility of a doctors visit today.
After rude remarks on how “she gets food poisoning all the time and never asks for refunds” she agreed to give me a credit. GROSS!
After being up sick most of the night, a credit sounded awful. Why would I go back to a place that made me sick in the first place?
It came down to the fact she was unwilling to refund any money from my order even though I only asked for the pad Thai plates to be refunded. I did not ask for the other items to be refunded since they didn’t make anyone sick…yet.
Beware of bad food and bad customer service. We used to frequent this place but because of the lack of empathy and understanding from the owner we will no longer come here. We will also warn others away from eating here as well.
I hope this review helps.
