A very good family owned restaurant. This place is run by husband( from America)and wife (from Thailand). Husband makes very good American breakfast next door and wife does excellent Thai food. We had a request of making our order vegetarian with no fish sauce nor eggs, they happily customized it for us. We were here during holiday season, they offered us a complementary dessert which was really good. It should their kindness and compassion they have towards their customers.

Baan Thai is a real gem in a cute little town, Vandalia, IL. The owner and staff are very nice and friendly. Their food is cooked at the perfect level. This place serves authentic delicious Thai food. The prices are relatively inexpensive compared to other Asian restaurants. Even though the ingredients and inflation are real these days, but this place prices their food at a reasonable level. I will definitely come back again.

We came in late on a Monday 7:30ish. We were the only customers. But the waitress Tammy was friendly and helpful. The food came quickly and was delicious. I had the pork Pad Thai, my wife had the basil seafood. Both weee delicious and plentiful. Easily another meal from this plate. Spring rolls were fresh and the peanut sauce was delicious. What a wonderful escape from the road.

We love Thai food and eat at a lot of different Thai restaurants. This is hands down our favorite local restaurant. Small, locally owned shop. Owner is very friendly and often asks us how our food is. The food is consistently great. We ordered Baan Thai take out about once a week throughout the pandemic closures to help support a small business and enjoy great food.

Absolutely amazing discovery in Vandalia, Illinois! Baan Thai is off the hook with quality of ingredients, care of preparation, and excellence in service. I make it a part of my work tradition to find locally owned restaurants when I’m in various communities on business across Illinois and Missouri, and this is one that definitely tops of my list. I will absolutely be back. In fact, for lunch today, I ordered two entrées, knowing full well I could not finish them both, just so I could have some tasty leftovers for dinner tonight and maybe even lunch again tomorrow!

I have not had Thai food since I moved from Ohio to Nebraska, I decided to give it a try on my way back to Ohio to pick up my kids from college. This place is a little hidden gem!! Try it. You won’t be disappointed. Amazing food. Great service. Wonderful pricing. Best Thai food I have had since I moved from Ohio. I ordered the beef pad Thai medium heat, and an order of spring rolls and it was enough for two people. The flavor was amazing. The heat just right. I cannot praise this restaurant enough.
