We were craving banh mi during our trip to NYC, and read this is one of the best spots in the city (that’s still somewhat affordable). We got the no. 1 and no. 8. Taste-wise, both flavours were delicious. They tasted very similar to Vancouver-style banh mi, which we are used to. Remember to bring cash as the place is cash only.

I live nearby, and after reading such great reviews, I’ve been looking forward to the day I try their bánh mì. Today was the day, and I purchased their popular combination #1 of various pork, and also purchased an egg roll. The sandwhich was phenomonal, the bread was truly perfect, never have I had a baguette so suited for a sandwhich before. Delightfully balanced with fillings and sauce. I look forward to returning to try other sandwiches and items, as well as reorder egg rolls. Note it is cash only.

Had an opportunity to dine with the family/ owners and it was a wholesome experience! They were most hospitable. The food and beverages were amazing, the preparation emaculate, the smiles genuine and the foot traffic – overstood. This place is not luxurious, but that’s not of concern. We found it to be a comfy familial atmosphere, with a restroom, fresh cooked meals, and good products – especially the iced Vietnamese coffee. Hands down the best I’ve ever tasted. We’ll be back!

Got the #1 combination bahn mi and the #4 pork meatball. And a handful of spring rolls. As soon as I got into my car, I devoured 2 of the pork spring rolls. Once home, I just reached into the bag and pulled out a sandwich. It was the to pork meatball. Non spicy. Didn’t feel like spicy sandwiches yesterday. I had half. Then I had half of the #1. Great lunch. Plus I had leftovers for dinner or today’s lunch. Their Vietnamese coffee is really good, but I already had an iced coffee from early morning.

This is the best neighborhood Banh Mi shop. My lover always gets the shredded chicken sandwich and orders one spicy for me, and gets one regular for himself. Great sandwich. I always end up just eating half, its alot of food, and he eats the other half. Ok, maybe 80% of the time. I do wish they had a spicier option, MORE SPICY PLEASE! They also do have some summer rolls, however with shrimp and pork, I pick out the pork and shrimp because I do not eat those and eat the rolls. Great bang for your buck.

Service was fast and there wasn’t a lot of people when I went so there was a lot of space. I order the grilled pork banh mi for 8 dollars which is very reasonable considering the size and flavors. The bread (assuming baguette) is nice and crispy exterior with a chewy interior. But it starts to cut the side of your mouth and makes it dry. The fillings flavors were very harmonized and well balanced but to have all of them together you gotta take a big bite because the meat is all the way inside while cilantro is in the outer layer. The flavors are very rich and have that sweet and sour taste in the sauce for the meat. Meat is also tender and is given in a fair amount. The vegetables are very fresh and the pepper gives it that extra spice which brings everything together. I believe the vegetables like cucumber may be pickled because the overall flavors are complex and deep. Closing statement: Bringing your own drink can help quench the dryness that the bread will give you.

Went here specifically to try the avocado shake and omg it was so good, creamy and not too sweet. It was reasonably priced at $6, just be aware that this place is cash only. I’d drive back to this area just for the sake! And the staff was really friendly! Would love to come back and try more.

No frills Vietnamese sandwich and light take-out spot, but don’t let that stop you from trying it out. This place is truly a gem. I go 45 mins out of my way for the Bánh bèo here and am happy to do so. Really feels like a place you’d find in Westminster or sgv
