I was craving pork belly so I stopped by. I didn’t notice the pork belly hanging in the glass container with the heat but I did notice it behind it over the butcher’s block. I thought it would be fresh and hot. I asked for a pound (A POUND FOR $18!) Got a little less but it came up to 18+ anyway…taxes?… As I was paying, I noticed the butcher pulling cold pieces of pork belly a different container near the butcher block. He didn’t cut it from the fresh piece that was hanging which I understand you need to get rid of your food. But the pieces of pork was just hanging out it bucket away from heat. I wanted to leave but I would if felt rude plus I just paid. The pork was cold oily and squishy.
Also I had to basically beg for the green scallion oil and brown drippings sauce.
I felt like I was treated unfair. Didn’t feel welcoming.
Definitely wouldn’t go back for meats.
Their desserts looks good though.

Cute and clean bakery located on Pleasant St in Malden. We tried a few Chinese deserts which were reasonably priced and as good as any I’ve had at my favorite Chinatown bakeries. CCs are accepted for amounts of $10 or more

This is my go-to chinese bakery in the area. I’ve eaten much of their bakery menu by now and I’m never disappointed. I also love getting chinatown sponge cakes here. They’re always on point and the design is beautiful. The pricing is fair. The staff is kind also.

I would give zero stars if I could. This was by far the worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
I’m Cantonese and grew up eating authentic BBQ meats, so I know what they’re supposed to taste like. What they served here was nowhere close — not authentic, not fresh, and honestly inedible. The chicken tasted like it was several days old, even though they claimed everything was made that day. Every dish was overly salty and oily.
I also ordered half a BBQ duck to go, and when I got home, I discovered it was basically just neck and bones and the head— no breast, no legs, no wings. Completely misleading and unacceptable. I ended up throwing most of it away.
To make matters worse, eating the food gave me rashes on my face and neck, which only happens when I eat food that isn’t fresh.
Don’t be fooled by the good reviews — they are not reflective of the reality here. This was the worst BBQ meat I’ve ever had in the US (or anywhere else). Save yourself the disappointment.

For Boston this bakery is OK and if I had wanted Chinese baked goods badly, I would come here if I didn’t want to drive into Boston. The egg tart had the perfect flakey crust. It is unfortunate that the filling was lacking enough flavor. The buns were good. Prices are higher than what I’m used to in NYC. Jan 2025

Bought a beautiful and very tasty birthday cake here and the pastries were good. However the white BBQ pork baos that come in the six-pack were very dry. Who knows how long they were sitting in the fridge. Wish I’d only bought one to try first.

We bought chicken pie, sesame bun, black bean and a coconut bun( I forgot the exact name). We liked coconut one a lot. Will definitely buy in a bulk next time. Bakery was clean, good customer service and a reasonably priced. Can’t wait to try their BBQ meat. It looked delicious!!!!

Decent food, large portion sizes for reasonable prices. BBQ duck and chicken were good but the sausage bun needed more flavor. The pastry is also fine. Nothing extraordinary but tastes good.

Listen up… this place makes legit Chinese BBQ roast duck —THE best way to prepare duck, which, by the way, is the tippy top of the poultry totem pole. It is incredibly juicy, tender, and flavorful. It is bliss in the form of food.
For the past two years, I’ve been getting it for Thanksgiving in place of turkey, which, by the way, is the dirt bottom of the poultry totem pole. Best decision ever. I’m going to be doing this for the rest of my life, and you should too —or just get it anytime because it’s iNSaNe.
Also, the staff here is very kind, and they offer a tasty selection of bao and Asian pastries. For real though —get the duck. 1000% a gem.

Better than Chinatown.
They have a bakery, and also a counter for Cantonese BBQ. Both are relatively cheap and very delicious. Now I found this place I have no reason to go to Chinatown (even for Dim Sum there is Ming’s seafood down the street). Malden Center is such a great place for Chinese food.
