BJ’s garden inn is a really great restaurant to have a hot home cooked meal. The servers are so polite and attentive. The cooks did great on my grilled chicken sandwich it was literally perfect. Although I’m disappointed it’s no longer a buffet but I’m delighted it’s still the best chicken place in duquoin.. best chicken in perry county.

First time trying BJ’s Garden Inn Cafe. Had the Sunday lunch plate which is two pieces of fried chicken, white or dark meat, plus two sides. Pictured there are three side because I did not order the carrots. Our service was good, the waitress was great. The food was what I would call average. There wasn’t anything bad or wrong with it, just not 5 stars.
We both had the Coconut pie for dessert, it was amazing. Completely homemade down to the crust itself, which was very good. We had Sunday lunch plates(2), drinks(2) and both had pie for dessert and it was under $34.00. Definitely worth it. We are looking forward to trying breakfast there soon. This place is a small town, old time diner. Worth a visit….

I can’t stop thinking about how good the fried chicken was yesterday. Had dark meat (leg & thigh). Wife had white meat (leg & breast). Don’t recall any better fried chicken. Nice homestyle selection of sides too. Reasonable price and great alternative to regular burger/chicken strip/ fries menu every place else seems to have.

This resturant is a small resturant, nothing fancy but the management is nice. I have never been disappointed with the food their. It is resturants like this, is not fast food which in my opinion makes me keep coming back, and it is 15 miles from home.

My last experience was a call in order for 2 – two piece fish dinners. The fish was soggy, I am guessing only dredged in flour as it had no taste. In the past, it was good, seasoned and crispy outside. The fries were “limp” this time and tasteless, plus,, there was no slaw which was suppose to be my second side. The food was not what it had been in the past for sure. The price has raised and the quality was below expectations. 2 dinners came to over $32.00.
