My rating for this place is a”0”. My daughters and I went there for dinner on 9/23/2025 and the reception we received was horrible. We went in the front door which looked like the front door and was rudely told “you came in the wrong door”. Mind you we could have gone in that door to get to the main sitting area. Once we went in the correct entry, no one directed us where to sit We had to figure that out for ourselves. The manager/waitress (she had short cut blonde hair) didn’t acknowledge us at all. She was too busy entertaining and giggling with 3 gentlemen that I assumed she knew. We began to talk out loud about how do we order, is there a menu, then she rudely yelled out that she was not our server and we had to order at the bar. We went to the bar and picked up the menus that she had thrown on the bar. We started to order and the menu was ambiguous but she didn’t take the time to explain to us what it was that we didn’t understand. We were so fed up with her attitude that we put the menu down and left without ordering anything. I’ve never seen such an attitude. She acted as if she was angry that we came through the door. NEVER AGAIN!!! I’ve passed this place many times and I always said I was going to stop there and order some food. I will never go in this place again and I’m going to encourage my family/friends not to patronize this place. We went to Crab Boat and were treated with respect. The atmosphere was friendly, the waitress was fantastic, and the food was deliciousssss.

Local, neighborhood meeting place. Parking lot has good space, & is flat, but on Motorcycles watch for loose gravel. Food was impressive for a local pool hall, bar, take out grill place. Staff was professional. Second time was on a Saturday night, & the place had a good crowd. Band was grooving, & people were mature. Inside Doorman will charge for ‘Re-Entry'(In & Outs). Security out front

Where do I begin…? Hubby and I visited this establishment about a month ago for the first time, went through the first door, sat at the bar, spoke with the owner and his wife (who is also the bartender), ordered and ate food, and REALLY enjoyed the experience. We promised we would return.

For date day with my mom and sister, I recommended this place to them…. BIG MISTAKE!!!

We arrive and went through the first door, where someone rudely said: you’re at the wrong door. No hello, just “you’re at the wrong door…”. We apologized and proceeded to go through the second door.

We walk in and wait to be greeted and seated… No luck. The wifey/bartender was too busy talking to the regulars to acknowledge us. So, we proceeded to pick a table that wouldn’t “tilt” when we placed our arms on it. ALL the tables were wobbly.

We sit and wait for a server. We wait. And wait. And wait. Keep in mind, we still haven’t been greeted and the wife/bartender is chatting away.

Finally, I said Hello? She looks up, annoyed and says: I don’t serve you, you have to come to the bar to place your order. We don’t have servers and we don’t serve you.

WHAT??? WTH???

My mom asked, “Do you have menus?”

Wife/bartender reply: “Yes, at the bar…”

We said ok, no problem. We’ll get our steps in. (Trying to make lemonade out of lemons.)

We get the menus and proceed to decide what we’re eating. Once we decide, we go to the bar to place our order, once again disrupting “her” conversations.

My sister starts placing her order of lamb chops.

“We don’t have lamb chops.”

Um, ok.

My sister then asked for some other meat (can’t remember what it was.)

“We don’t have that. All we have are pork chops and you only get two. The menu has to be updated.” (To what? No food?)

At this point, we’re breathing…

Ok, that’s fine.

My sister asks for green beans.

“We don’t have green beans.”

THAT’S IT! WE’RE OUT OF HERE!!!

We ran out of there and went to the Crab Boat where we were received with a smile and hello, escorted to our table, a very hospitable server, and delicious food!!! The Crab Boat made a horrible experience at the B&G Tavern much better!!!

And the sad part? B&G Tavern has really good food. But the wife/bartender had such a nasty attitude and the environment was so unwelcoming that we will NEVER return because of poor customer service and apparently few food in stock!!!

Very disappointed… Because I spoke so highly of this place to my family.

If you’re not a regular, BEWARE of B&G Tavern because they treat new people like crap!!!
