So bummed I found this place so late in my trip – but I’ll definitely be back! Just had the most amazing barbeque, our last meal before heading home, and what a way to wrap things up. The Fried Johnny Cakes were probably the best on the island. The food was absolutely amazing – the ribs, the lobster tails, all on point. If I were here a few more days, I’d be coming back a couple more times for sure. Truly appreciate the food and the warm hospitality at B&D’s BBQ

Stopped by for lunch on recommendation and got the steamed fish, bbq chicken and Johnny cakes.
The Johnny cakes were delicious- and we agree with the locals who found it to be the best on the island.
The fish though fresh was okay flavor wise and the sides a bit of a let down. Chicken actually was more dry than expected hence the 4 stars.
Our experience was likely just due to the time of visit; with that said, not opposed to going back at all.

We enjoyed to-go dinners of chicken and ribs with sides of fries and rice. The chicken was our favorite, and the BBQ sauce was sweet with a little tang. The Johnny Cakes were the star of our meal, though, and I only wish we’d ordered more. Check the hours, as this local treasure is not open daily.

Hubby & I stopped by for lunch yesterday and it didn’t disappoint. We decided to stay and eat there. I had the ribs platter and he had the whole fish (red snapper). Food was ready in about 5-7 mins and was delicious…definitely my favorite BBQ on the island. It may not have the vibe of some of the beach shacks but the food was def better and only $27 for both of our meals!

Think of a mom and pop shop well B&D’s is a mom and pop BBQ which offers a generally good dining experience, although it has its ups and downs. The food at B&D’s is usually tasty. Additionally, their popular Jonny cakes are well-liked by many customers, although my personal experience with them during my last visit left something to be desired.
When it comes to service, B&D’s falls into the “just okay” category. While the staff is generally attentive, there is room for improvement.

Looking for a meal that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg (like most of the island’s best does) but is still local, fresh and delicious? Look no further!!! I will be craving their ribs and potato salad for a long time to come (I think that potato salad is the best we’ve EVER had and we’re New Yorkers and foodies!). Really friendly service and feels like you’re at a bbq at a friend’s house even if you’re a tourist. Incredible! My boyfriend had a combo platter and said the chicken was even more incredible than the ribs (which I LOVED). Everything cooked perfectly. Paid only $32 in cash for the two of us INCLUDING the 20% tip we added! Worth every penny and more!
