A wonderful country restaurant with homestyle cooking! You have to watch out for the driveway when stopping here, but you wont want to miss it! My family and I were on our way back home from the beach when we stopped in here for breakfast and we were not disappointed. The coffee was just what we needed and all of the food was delicious. They have full breakfast plates with just about anything you could want from eggs, bacon, and pancakes to liver pudding and country ham. The lady serving us was incredibly polite and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed and double checking our large order to make sure it was right. My dad raved about his western omelet, well done hashbrowns, bacon, and biscuit for a long time after, saying “I think that was about the best meal we’ve had all week.”

Great place atmosphere. Owners are wonderful. The food is off the chain. I had the shrimp alfredo was tasty. Great portions. I always need a doggy bag! Reasonable prices too. A great gem in Tar Heel. Open Saturdays & Sundays for now.

Home style cooking at its best! This place is a gem. My first time dining here but definitely not the last. There was plenty of parking, handicap ramp, it was not crowed. The owners were very welcoming and the atmosphere was inviting. The food was delicious!!! And they have just about anything you could want to eat. I had meatloaf, cabbage, yams, a roll, homemade lemonade – that was better than the chicken place I love – and two desserts. Yes 2. I had the first one while waiting for the food. It was pound cake and yes it too was delicious. If you’re going down 87 towards the beach, I highly recommend you stop in for a treat. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. (Check for the days they are open.) I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Just good eating!

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic, warm, smiling welcoming from owners, great home cooked food, delicious desserts.Its one of those food treasures you heard about from the Cooking Network…..If you’re in the vicinity of Smithfield’s in Tar Heel… You should stop by and get really great tasting food and most importantly all food is prepared by Owner. Love everything I ate……simply yummy!
