Have been meaning to stop and check the place out for months. Finally had time to run in with my son. Owner was extremely helpful. The food was great. Catfish was perfect. Mac & Cheese was extra cheesy and full of flavor. Cornbread was as good as all the previous reviews said it was. Will definitely have to stop in again and try everything on the menu. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.

As someone that has been dissatisfied with the soul food scene in Frederick. My son picked the dinner spot and said it was soul food. I warned him 3 times…it better be good lol. They did not disappoint. I ordered the fried whiting dinner with green beans and candied yams. He ordered the BBQ ribs with Mac n cheese and candied yams. Everything was hot and well seasoned and the service was very inviting and pleasant. I would recommend if you’re looking for down home southern style soul food, here’s your place!

Delicious and got alot of food for $20. The pomegranate sweet tea is great. Mac and cheese was a little disappointing but it could have been an off day. The yams, jerk half chicken, rice & peas and cabbage were all great. Writing this makes me want to go there now. Check the hours first.

First time here & it was delicious I ordered two meals as I like to taste a little bit of everything. Meal 1: Fried fish (whitening) with pork & beans and mashed potatoes. The fish is fried to order and was fried perfect with great taste. The gravy for the potatoes had meat pieces and was amazing! The pork & beans were the best I ever tasted in my life! The seasoning is on point! Meal 2: Jerk chicken with mac & cheese and collard greens. The flavor of the jerk chicken was incredible and it fell off the bone. A big slice of cornbread is included with all meals, the cornbread is sweet and the edges are crispy. I couldn’t stop eating it! For drink I had the strawberry lemonade. I will definitely go back to try more items on the menu; curry chicken, curry goat, oxtails, fried fish, fried shrimp, fried chicken, smothered pork chops, turkey legs, ribs, meatloaf & more.

The food was truly good ol southern cooking! I got the fried catfish with fried okra and collard greens. The fact that the greens were in their own separate container, I knew this experience was headed in the right direction. The food was delicious and the customer service was warm and welcoming, in true southern fashion. I will be back.

The food here was so delicious! As a person who is originally from the south I definitely approve! All the food tasted so fresh and everything was seasoned to perfection! Customer service was great and the owner was so very friendly and welcoming! Definitely will return when I am back in the area.

Let me just say I have found the motherland. I have found my people I have found the village where we are originated in Frederick so let me tell you how I was up here for business meeting, and the only thing that I typed in Google Maps was soul food near me Now if you know me, then you know I look at bad reviews only because ain’t nobody gonna sit around and waste a time and lie but this place had all good reviews so I had to try it out so whoever’s grandmother auntie Cuxzin big back that is in the back of that kitchen cooking. Keep doing what you are doing, you are amazing and the food was spectacular. The atmosphere was great and I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I also got me some pink Kool-Aid and it took me back to my childhood instantly

The food was pretty good and she provided excellent customer service. My only complaint is it was extremely hot & humid in the restaurant. She had fans going but it was a bit uncomfortable eating hot food and the place was hot. The banana pudding was absolutely delicious!

The food was very seasoned and flavorful! The young man with the dreads told me that the red sauce on the meatloaf was made with mumbo sauce and not ketchup! Lol soooo freaking good! The portions are BIG the meatloaf is huge a must get customer service is excellent ❣️
