Trendy eatery with a vast menu of traditional & inventive sushi along with teriyaki & udon noodles.

The service and atmosphere was very good.
The crazy Irishman roll was super good! The cooked salmon inside was very juicy, and I didn’t expect it to taste so good.
The seafood nabeyaki udon wasn’t as good as expected, and the fish, the shrimp, and the scallop didn’t look very fresh or tender.
The katsu don was ok, but there wasn’t enough sauce and the meat wasn’t very crunchy. I didn’t expect the egg to be on the pork.
The takoyaki is different from the normal ones, they have a different sauce and no fish flakes. I didn’t like it.
Also, the portions were pretty big, we came as three people and we almost didn’t finish.
Overall, it is ok.

The restaurant is clean and hygienic, with spacious seating and soft lighting. It is suitable for couples, families, and friends to gather for dinner.
Personally, I think the ingredients are average, not as authentic as the sushi in local Japanese restaurants, and the portions of each meal are on the small side, which is a pity.
Generally, the quality of the food is good, and the price is on the upper-middle level. If you want to be full, this restaurant may be a little disappointing.

I cannot stress how incredible and fresh the food here is. They have hard to find cuts of fish in addition to actual fresh grated wasabi. Highly highly recommend.

I used to think I didn’t like sushi, but that all changed after I had dinner here one night. The food was so incredible that I went back the very next day for happy hour. Whether it’s night or day, the atmosphere is always great. But what really stood out was the bartender who served us—he was so sweet and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable.

Food was nothing spectacular. Just happen to be local and went for the convenience. I would visit again but the server turned me off. She was rude and unfriendly. She frowned when asked about the types of ingredients as I have allergies to certain ingredients. She seemed agitated so I stopped and ordered something else. I was trying not to be rude in front of my guest but even my friend mentioned how she was rude and unwilling to listen and took off. I spent over $100 for 2 person lunch and found it very distasteful that I spent the money and had to give her tip that she doesn’t deserve for such unprofessional behavior. As for the food, I would go back only if I get a different server. I have few friends who had the same service issues which I was told few weeks back and i didn’t think much of it. However, now that I too experienced rude and unpleasant services i may have to wait a while until I forget the distasteful encounter. Price and the quality is fairly reasonable like any other sushi restaurants in the area.

First time tried Omakase by Chef Diego for my birthday and it was astonishing! Previously went for sushi rolls and loved it (despite the restaurant being far from my house), but after trying the chef chosen variety of appetizers, sushi and sashimi will be back more often. The dishes we tried were so distinct – fusion of Japanese cuisine with modern touches. Plates were decorated as art creations; taste surprised and satisfied the palate, the textures were marvelously fused. Perfectly combined flavors and highest grade seafood were perfect for celebrating my special occasion, want to return for more.
The place may not appear luxury or chic but food definitely is the top quality. It has been open for many years and still provides excellent quality and service (as sushi connoisseur I noticed the trend for quality to do down for many high end sushi restaurants). Definitely will be back and highly recommend as best place for Omakase in Houston.

Very nice place. I think the waitor forgot about us but the food was amazing. We sat at the sushi bar and the guys at the bar were very attentive.

First timer at Azuma. Friday evening dinner. Surprisingly full of young kids, almost every table had 1-2 young kids. Not against kids at all. Decor is dated, bland, COVID features still in place (plexiglass barriers). Service was excellent. Food taste was above average to great. Fried calamari was crunchy but pieces were very small. Adedashi tofu had good taste. Pink Lady roll was excellent. And the fried banana dessert was large enough for 4 shares. We plan to come back for lunch bento box. Prices are reasonable.

Great food in general. Robata dishes are great. They are cooked perfectly and seasonings are tasty. Fish was really good! But the roll quality wasn’t the best. It was passable but I recommend getting something grilled or cooked over rolls.

I went to Azuma with a group of friends and the experience was pretty good. We arrived and we didn’t have to wait since there was a table available.
The service was okay, maybe a little to improve.
All the food was excellent, we ordered a series of dishes for the table The Spicy Edamane, Red Devil Roll, Lobster Roll (one of the best), we also tried the Duck Ramen very good, the Chicken Katu delicious and a good option if you don’t eat fish Another of my favorites was the Azuma Sushi Combination, the ocean roll okay, the fried calamari good but nothing out of this world, but one of the stars was the Combo Fried Rice, super fresh and delicious.
The atmosphere is beautiful, good decoration and I love that you can see the chefs making the sushi, truly one of the best in the city.
