OH. MY. GOSH. We each ordered a birria papusa and an asada papusa, and they were DELICIOUS!! They warned us it would be about a 20 minute wait because it’s made to order, but it was so worth the wait! We both left totally stuffed and with leftovers. The whole staff was very kind. We will definitely be back!

Excellent hand-made pupusas! I had bean and cheese, $7 each, 15 minute wait, totally worth it. Served with a cabbage slaw/pickle and sauce. Self-serve chips and salsa bar to nibble on while we waited. We ate outside on a small makeshift table but the inside was nice and bright with booths and hightops. Very sweet good service.

New in the area and have been looking for great locally run businesses. Stopped in here for lunch today and was beyond happy with my decision. Tacos and pupusas were hot and extremely fresh, chips and salsa were great, and their horchata latte they had with their frescas was wonderful. Will definitely be going back, definitely recommend for anyone looking to indulge in some phenomenal food.

Super tasty spot. we got a couple items to go on the way home from the store. Calling in was real simple and the friendly stuff encouraged me to have some chips and salsa while I waited the last couple minutes for the order. It’s bright, spacious and clean inside for anyone looking to dine in.
My king burrito with carnitas was huge and exactly what I hoped for. Bunch of rice, flavorful beans, all brought together with the rich shredded pork and a healthy sprinkling of pico. With the green salsa poured on top of bites it was perfect.
The papusas had a great texture even after 10 minutes on the road. A little crisp on the outside with a mild chew, and hearty filling. Bean and cheese and Asada and cheese were fire.
All that food for like 30 bucks! if you wanted a cheap meal you could get a papusa and a drink for under $10 and feel satisfied, not to mention the daily deals we’ll be back for (Chile relleno Friday). Go here, it’s good.

I went here for the first time with my son last night. Don’t be deterred by the exterior of the shopping center which can be kind of dark and NOT the fault of the amazing folks at Azteca; It’s bright and clean and colorful inside!
The pupusas were incredible, hand made to order. The tacos were flavorful and satisfying.
And the prices were more than fair!
In a town with mostly Latin restaurants, Azetca stands out at the top. 10/10 recommend!

Every time I come from Santa Maria to work in Atascadero, stopping by Azteca Azteca Taquería y Pupusería is a must! This place is the real deal — the portions are generous, the food is delicious and always fresh, and the service is top-notch. You can really feel the family vibe and the love they put into everything they do. It’s one of those spots that makes you feel at home — great people, amazing food, and good energy all around. Highly recommend! ❤️

Azteca is my favorite spot on the central coast since moving here a few years ago. Being from San Diego, I am always on the hunt for the best burritos and Azteca blows me away every time. I also love their papusas and fried plantains. I have become a regular because of how kind their staff is and how consistently good and fresh the food is. I will vouch for Azteca any day, thank you for feeding me!!

We love Azteca Market! Especially their products! Their platanos are so good, along with their tamales de elote! Delicious! My family loves the family meals too! We get the Azteca family meal and the pupusas! Tip if you have a large family get an extra order of meat and some tortillas. We enjoyed the homemade ones.
