Never again. I’m done.

We had dinner tonight in Mountlake Terrace. After our plates were brought out our waitress didn’t check on us, not ONCE. Interestingly she stopped by the table speaking to her in Spanish six times. Yes, SIX times before they even ordered their dinner. She walked by us each time and glared at us every single time. Maybe it was because we didn’t order alcohol? Maybe because we didn’t Spanish. Little did she know that I actually do speak Spanish and just got off from work where I am a certified interpreter.

Notice in the photo how small the portions are in comparison to a tortilla chip. This is a $20 entree.

There were only 4 occupied tables plus one six top celebrating a birthday in the entire restaurant. I saw a few occupied tables in the bar. I take it from their lack of customers (revenue) that we are not the only ones who came away disappointed.

We only continued to patronize Azteca because of a particular dish they make. Everything else is… meh.

I had been a customer since 1994 at the Seattle location. When we moved to the north end we started going to the Lynnwood location which soon closed. We moved to the Mountlake Terrace location where we are treated like we are not welcome.

The owners need to revisit their mission statement. “At Azteca Mexican Restaurant, our mission is to serve up more than just delicious food – we want to share the warmth, love, hospitality, and traditions of our Mexican heritage with every guest, every time.”

Delicious food packed with authentic flavor and fresh salsa that hits just right. The friendly service made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

I placed two orders to go, after we ate lunch. When I got home they were lunch special sizes for dinner size prices paid
I specified dinner portions and was charged for that, yet received special lunch size portions. When I called and questioned them about this I was promptly hung up on! While the food is good… this cost me some $40 extra and has left me not wanting to return…hung up? Where’s the customer service these days…

Azteca has been a Northwest fixture for many decades. We’ve always counted on the consistency of their cuisine and friendliness of the staff. We went with Enchiladas and Arroz Con Pollo. Food comes out hot and fast. Portions are hearty, and I was impressed that I had a piece of chicken in nearly every bite of the Arroz Con Pollo. Prices have climbed a bit higher but are still reasonable. It’s still a solid go-to place for good Mexican fare.

Terrible food and service. You wouldn’t think anyone could make a bad plate of something as simple as nachos, but Azteca sure did.
To sum it up, there was a small, single layer of chips topped with so much ground beef that it covered the whole plate. Needless to say, the small number of chips were saturated from the grease from the meat. They forgot to put beans in the nachos. There was a good amount of cheese, which I like but, none of it was touching a single chip. We resorted to eating the last few chips that came with salsa that they serve you at before the meal. We tried getting the waitresses’ attention multiple times but she was too busy chatting with the bartender to care. Won’t be going back here ever. Terrible food and service.

Overall this is a good place to get good Mexican food. The service was great the portions are enormous. So if you like to share order a normal meal. Drinks here are good.

I am not typically into what you would consider a chain Mexican restaurant but this is one to be an exception for me and my family. I have eaten lunch and dinner here many times and also attended a large party in a back area. The food and the staff are always great. With people ordering a large array of dishes no one complained and all seem to enjoy themselves. There is a huge parking lot with plenty of other stores around. Finding a place to park is not a problem.

The waiter and waitress were very cheerful, attentive and helpful. Dining room was closed due to broken water pipe, so it was understandable that we were seated in the bar area. It’s gotten a little outdated over the years but the food is still delicious.

Visited here on the busiest of all days, Cinco de mayo. Azteca perfectly handled the crowds. Nearly every table filled but they planned ahead and had the restaraunt fully prepared and staffed. Small wait for our table but quickly got water, chips and salsa. Ordered the steak fajitas and a combo plate. I forgot how great the flavors are here at Azteca. I was very impressed with the quality and freshness of the food. We will definitely be coming back more often. I wish we got more pictures but we were too hungry. We did get to enjoy some fried ice cream.

For the size of wedding party we had, there could have been more servers helping the one server who was trying to help our party. Otherwise everything else was great.
