When my children were still in school, I needed an outlet while my husband was finishing up his studies at the University. Cooking a lot among friends and their encouragements gave me an idea that maybe starting catering would be a good fit. Over 30 years later, and the restaurant speaks for itself. I ended up finding my passion and finding new ways to connect to the people around me in this town through my culinary explorations introducing Ann Arbor to authentic, locally sourced Turkish home cooking. After 29 years we’ve gotten our formula down! Our customers speak wonders about our food, especially our red-lentil soup all over the world, and for that we feel tremendous gratitude.
Unassuming Turkish eatery serving lamb, chicken & vegan dishes, plus wine & beer in a homey space.

The Turkish coffee is strong and bold; it comes in a small, Turkish-sized cup.
The service was amazing!
But honestly, it is a bit expensive for me. I expect more at that price.
Update: We came back two weeks later and the food was once again truly delicious. The staff were also very friendly, and the environment was clean and cozy. Please be aware that the menu changed from last time, so I believe the specials are updated regularly.
Update 03/03/2022: We came with a friend today for dessert. Even though we arrived half an hour before closing, they very kindly let us in and the food was delicious! I particularly liked the Noah’s Pudding, made with tasty rose water syrup. The restaurant was immaculately clean and very welcoming.
Update 03/19/2022: We experienced the special meze event with a dear friend of ours. The food was excellent and had clearly taken great effort to prepare. I particularly liked the stuffed cabbage and spicy atom. The staff were all very friendly and attentive, and the owner was incredibly flexible to accommodate our needs.
The food was ok. The chilled cucumber soup was good. I got the “macaroni” and minced lamb. I was surprised to see it served as unseasoned noodles with mince and yogurt sauce just kind of poured on. It would have been better mixed and with a different noodle.
Overall, it’s fine. I probably won’t got if I have a tight lunch time. Might order something different.
Meal type: …
I recommend the Lentil Stew as well as the Eggplant Stew. Both are very well done and a nice size portion.
A good selection of desserts, too.
Service is attentive and personable.
