My husband and I tried this place for a late lunch, and we were very impressed. The menu was diverse, with plenty of options to choose from. Every dish we ordered was delicious and fresh. My favorites were the falafel and spanakopita, and my husband’s top pick was the chicken shawarma. We love Mediterranean food and have been to several Mediterranean restaurants, and this one is definitely one of our favorites now. They also offer pizza and pasta, so it’s a great option for people who may not prefer Mediterranean food. I really appreciated the atmosphere and the friendly service as well. The open kitchen also shows their confidence in the quality and cleanliness of their food. We’ll definitely be coming back with our friends and family!

We were regulars at the Frederick location and talk about how much we miss it. Ayse is one of the places that is special because Nezih put his heart in it. Isabella’s and Pistarros are great but Ayse is unique and wonderful. We came for our 28th wedding anniversary and it was so amazing. Every part of the meal was meticulously prepared. We had 5:30 reservations and I would suggest that, because it got busy. The staff was amazing! Lucia our waitress was personable and attentive . Both managers were great big shout out to Jennifer and her peer. Both made us feel like we were friends! And of course we were pleasantly surprised to see Nezih! We were excited to have the Brussels sprouts, we have missed these. We had the artichoke hearts and the partstmi both were good. Both were subtler than the sprouts but unique and a nice compliment. We decided to try the LFC. Get this, full stop! It may be one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. My wife and I chose a couple specials. She had a seafood pasta and I had a filet mignon skewer. They were prepared with such care. The tahini sauce was so full bodied and such a great compliment to the skewer. My wife raved about the quality of the seafood and the pasta. For dessert my wife had the orange yogurt cake, wow! The flavor just popped, the combination of orange and feta was sublime! I had the Tahini mousse. Oh tahini, such an amazing flavor and this dish is equal parts complex but easy to grasp. The special part of the mousse was the tahini cake that formed the foundation of this dessert. It’s a beautiful restaurant and a must visit!

The vibes and decor will get you in the door, but the food will keep you coming back. Everything on the menu we tried was fantastic. Such a wide range of Mediterranean favorites plus more. The service was friendly and quick, but not rushed at all. Definitely get the dumplings (a traditional Turkish dish) that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else in the DMV. 10/10 and can’t wait to come back!

Brunch at Ayse Meze Lounge was a fantastic experience. Every dish we tried was excellent, starting with the fresh salads and moving on to the sandwiches. The lamb sliders were my absolute favorite—so flavorful and perfectly done. We also tried the desserts, and they did not disappoint at all. Great food from start to finish, and a place I would happily recommend to anyone looking for a standout brunch in Rockville. Ps- The half-eaten plate in the picture is proof we couldn’t help ourselves

I work in the same building as Ayse and was so excited to get another restaurant in the area for lunch. I’ve been here twice and both times I was disappointed. I ordered the soup and margarita pizza. Tuscan wedding soup was bland, and barely had soup in the bowl. They explained that the soup bowl was big, and not the right size, but that the usual $9 soup is 1 cup. Ok fine. Went there again on 10/2 and ordered a pepperoni pizza. They told me 10-15 min. Came back, food not ready. Waiter tells me it takes time for the pizza ovens to warm up in the morning. (So why tell me 10-15 minutes) Then I called about 5-10 min to see if my food was ready and Rita said “yup, it just came out.” But, It came out cold. Like it was sitting there for some time. So they made me another one. When I picked up the replacement, they couldn’t even bother to sprinkle the cheese evenly on the pizza. I had 2 slices that barely had cheese on it, and the pizza was lopsided. I received no utensils (second time this happened) for my Caesar salad. Salad was very good though.
My motto, first time a victim, second time a volunteer. My fault for thinking they could get it right. They spent a lot of money making this place look beautiful. It’s gorgeous inside. But people don’t come to a restaurant just for great decor. They come for great food.

Lunch with friends.
Brussels Sprouts – recommended by our server. Menu describes it as having walnuts, caper, currants, and hot & sour dressing. They were so good. Next time I may just get my own dish.
I got a chance to taste someone’s Tuscan Wedding Soup and liked it, so I got my own. It is served to you initially without the chicken broth that is poured in at your table. The bowl contains spinach, parmesan cheese, meatballs and something called mini garganelli. Once all is combined, it is at the right temperature and the perfect serving.
My main dish was the Beef Short Rib. You get 2 big pieces of braised beef on top of some roasted garlic mashed potatoes, all in cabernet jus. It was cooked so well you could slice it with your finger. The taste was excellent.
My friends really enjoyed their dishes too. Our server, Samarra, was on point. When asked for recommendations on the menu, she not only knew the menu but provided answers to all our questions on it. I would like to get her again as she was very thorough.
Great Food. Great Friends. Excellent Service. I will be back.

Great meal…food and service all first rate…and our server Keanu did a great job pacing everything out. Started with saganaki and spicy feta, then falafel and zucchini cakes, followed by artichokes, short rib and mussels, then finished off with orange yogurt cake. Definitely recommend !

Exceptional! Fans of Ayse Meze know they were in Frederick, MD for many years and the food there was always great. To the disappointment of myself, many of my friends, and no doubt many others, they closed some time ago.
Much to our surprise, we read that they were re-opening in Gaithersburg. They’re back. Open for about a month or so now in a new, very beautiful location in King Farm.
The food was exceptional. Service was fantastic. Please don’t miss this place. On our plate was the eggplant, the Brussel sprouts, the artichokes, the meze mixed plate (not sure if that was the name), and a fried chicken dish. The flavors are amazing and the food cooked to perfection.
Can’t recommend this place enough. Please go support them in their new location in King Farm. You will be very happy you went.

We went to Ayse with high hopes yesterday, as the closest Turkish restaurants to this area are in DC. The menu was promising, and I was very excited to see “Hamsi Tava” as one of the specials as I haven’t had hamsi in the States before and I love the dish. I am adding the picture below for what they served but please google “Hamsi Tava” to see what it is supposed to be. 10 pieces of hamsi is just the amount you eat while tasting if the fish is ready in Turkey. This dish was so sad.
We also ordered manti, lahmacun, the dips, and the lebanese chicken. Looking at the menu, the prices seem reasonable but when they brought the dishes, everything was appetizer sized but entree priced. Not just the hamsi, but the manti only had 10 pieces of ravioli in it. The chicken was also a few tiny pieces. The dishes were not true to their origin either. Manti was made with heavy cream (it should only be made with yoghurt) and the tomato sauce on it was like a margherita sauce with no spices. The lahmacun was served like a pizza and had a thick crust and no crunch. It also was again lacking in seasonings and spice. The dips were alright.
It felt more like a restaurant pretending to be Turkish than actually being Turkish, like the chefs didn’t actually know what Turkish cuisine is, what spices are used etc. I think you can tell the confusion in the menu too, like they are not sure what exactly to serve.
Overall, it was a meh experience. The best dish of the night was the Turkish coffee ice cream, as it was generously served and tasty but it wasn’t worth the $150 we spent for two people.

Ayşe was absolutely incredible! The food was AMAZING, every dish was bursting with flavor. This place came highly recommended, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The drinks were just as good, prices were reasonable for as much as we ordered, and the atmosphere was perfect for a chill but cute night out. I’ll definitely be coming back with friends, highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for great food and good vibes!
