Tucked away in the corner of a plaza, Ayothaya is one of those places you’d completely miss if you weren’t looking for it and that would be a mistake. It’s a true hidden gem. The interior is small and intimate, maybe seating a dozen people at most, which adds to the authentic, cozy feel.

The food is exceptionally fresh and tastes genuinely traditional. The spring rolls were outstanding; crisp, not greasy at all, and served with a perfectly balanced sweet chili sauce. You can tell they’re made with care.

I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with chicken and it did not disappoint. Loaded with bamboo shoots, fresh chili, and flat egg noodles, it had that bold, authentic flavor you hope for when ordering Thai. Everything tasted vibrant and well-executed.

On top of that, the service was exceptional. It was warm, attentive, and welcoming.

If you’re looking for authentic Thai food and don’t mind a small, cozy space, Ayothaya is absolutely worth seeking out. I’ll be back.

Ayothaya Thai restaurant truly made a great impression from the first visit. The food here is well-seasoned and authentically Thai. The crispy fried soft-shell crab is golden brown on the outside but still tender on the inside, and incredibly flavorful. The Tom Yum soup is a harmonious blend of sour and spicy flavors, fragrant with lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves, hot and rich, truly authentic Thai. The Thai fried rice has fluffy grains, is not dry, and the ingredients are well-balanced and easy to eat. Pad See Ew impresses with its soft yet chewy noodles, rich sauce, and perfectly cooked, fragrant stir-fry.

The restaurant’s atmosphere is cozy and clean, suitable for intimate meals with friends or family. The prices are reasonable compared to the quality of the food. Especially, the young and talented owner is always friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive, creating a welcoming and welcoming atmosphere for diners. Ayothaya is definitely a place worth returning to for anyone who loves Thai cuisine. (Sorry for the photos of food, me and my wife enjoy it so bad so we forgot to take pictures of the dishes before finished it lol)

Decided to check Ayothaya after work. I got the Beef Pad See Ew, Thai Chicken Wings and Thai Green Tea. The chicken wings were saucy but still crispy, the sauce was sweet and tangy. Pad see ew had good flavour, not too overpowering, and a good amount of meat. I like that they add the lime on the side, some restaurants make it too sour. Thai green tea was fire, better than lots of teas you can get at a boba shop. Overall its a great cozy restaurant, would definitely come back again.

Great experience at Athoya Thai Food! The service was friendly and quick, and the food was really tasty. The basil beef with rice and fried egg was full of flavor, the spring rolls were perfectly crispy, and the beef salad was fresh and light. Everything tasted authentic and well made. Definitely a place I would come back to and recommend to family/friends.

We kind of stumbled upon this Thai spot by chance, and I’m really glad we did. We ordered the Thai fried rice, pad see ew, and green curry. For drinks tried the iced Thai milk tea and the Thai green milk tea. Everything was honestly so good. The flavors were on point and the spice level was perfect.

The only small thing for me was the noodles in the pad see ew, usually when I’ve had it elsewhere, it’s been a different type of noodle. That said, it was still really, really good and didn’t take away from the dish overall.

The restaurant itself was super cozy and pretty inside, which made the experience even better. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend it. We’ll for sure be back to try more dishes.

I recently tried this spot on a friend’s recommendation for the best Thai in Durham region, and it did not disappoint!

Ordered the Tom Kha Vegan Soup, Pad See Ew, and Vegan Thai Fried Rice everything was absolutely delicious.

A must-try for Thai lovers!
Solid 5/5 from me.

Ayothaya is my absolute favourite Thai restaurant in Durham!
The place is pretty small but, the quality of their food and service is outstanding!
The server is always nice and friendly whenever we come and dine!

We have almost tried everything on the menu and I have so many favourites!
Here are just few of what we usually order and I urge everyone to give it a try!
Pad kra pao, pad thai, pad see-ew, panang and red curry, khao soi, and seafood tom yum! If you can handle spicy, I recommend getting them spicy! Every sip and bite is packed with beautiful and fresh flavours!

We are always excited whenever we come back here because we know we’re getting authentic Thai dishes!

It is a surprising and pleasant experience. Everything was top notch, we said them to make the food authentic, Thai level spicy and flavourful food and we get what we ordered. Normally in restaurants, 1/2 dishes are good but every dish!! No way. We will go there again to enjoy the food. The menu has pictures of almost every dishes which made easy. Thanks for the experience.

Most of the food I ordered was delicious and tasted great. The pad thai, however, was too tangy and smelled bad. Leaving that aside, the rest of the meal was fantastic. It’s a small place, but the food and service were both excellent.

Not happy with the Portion. The pricing is similar to other fine dining authentic Thai places but portion is very tiny. Otherwise taste, service and atmosphere was amazing. The restaurant is also small but very cozy. I’d come back repeatedly if the portions are improved . Apologies for the 2 stars less but seriously in Toronto and Ontario the portions have a standard.

All the best wishes. Finally food taste the spice all were amazing and delicious.
