The kids had the best time — they loved the juicy steaks and chicken, and even the fresh sushi was a big hit! The truffle rolls were unforgettable, the mains were cooked to perfection, and the desserts tasted like pure art.
The team were so warm and welcoming, especially with families, and watching the chef make the sushi rolls right in front of us was such a fun moment for the kids.
If you’re looking for affordable fine dining with a unique twist, Ayllu is definitely a must-visit. We’ll 100% be coming back! Thanks to Foysal for an excellent costumer service.
To start, parking was a nightmare, which already set a slightly frustrating tone. On arrival, the restaurant is led downstairs near the toilets, which felt odd and unwelcoming. There was no real customer service, no warmth, no engagement, and nothing that made it feel like a special occasion.
We ordered a selection of wagyu, black cod, ceviche, tiradito, sashimi, and scallops. Unfortunately, the food was below par overall. Much of it was tasteless, particularly the ceviche, which was extremely disappointing given that it’s a key part of the menu.
The worst part of the evening was that one of the ceviches was clearly off. It had a strong, unpleasant fishy smell and tasted wrong. All three of us tried it, and each bite was inconsistent, some tasted extremely rank, others smelled bad which strongly suggests old and new portions had been mixed together.
When we raised this with the waiter, the response was simply whether we wanted it replaced or taken off the bill. There was no concern, no apology, and no acknowledgment of the seriousness of serving off raw fish.
By 1am, my flatmate was nauseous, and I have been sick today, which is deeply concerning and completely unacceptable.
For a restaurant of this reputation and price point, this experience fell far below expectations not just in food quality, but in service, care, and basic food safety. What should have been a memorable birthday dinner was instead a regrettable experience.
I won’t be returning.
Inside the ambience was very nice and fancy. Not too loud, calm music and perfect dim lighting. Our waiter Fab greeted us with a bottle of water. A few minutes later we ordered the food. It all tasted fantastic and seemed to be high quality. Especially for the price your 100% getting your moneys worth here. Our waiter was top-notch, very accurate and not pushy at all.
If I ever visit London again I will definitely come by!
We visited for our anniversary, which I mentioned in the notes, and I specifically asked for a quiet table where we wouldn’t be distracted by late arrivals or people passing by. Unfortunately, we were seated right by the door, where people constantly had to squeeze past us.
We also had a limited time to dine, but around 15 minutes were wasted waiting to be served. In addition, there were noticeable delays between courses, and we had to keep trying to get staff’s attention despite the restaurant not being very busy.
The food was incredible, we’ve traveled Peru and Japan and it was very authentic, and took us back to being there. Also, decent veggie and vegan options, which were considerably cheaper than the meat which is always a win in my book.
The staff left a little to be desired. While we were checking in, one of the hosts literally barged me out the way to take the tablet from our host. We also sat for quite a while before being asked about drinks. However when it all arrived it was great, and the staff were helpful once we had spoken to them.
Overall would definitely recommend.
Between the two of us we ordered the Chicken Karaage, Chicken Bao, Aubergine Bao, Black Cod, Peruvian Fries and Yucas!
Chicken Karaage and the chicken Bao were delicious. The Aubergine was somewhat of a disappointment.
I personally liked the black cod but the taste was too much for my partner.
The fries were normal but the Yucas was nice. Very strong flavours.
We got directed to our table, waited around 15 min for the waiter to come. Nobody passed him information that we have a voucher so that was a first sign of the poor communication. He told us he will check what we have included. For the next 30 min we didn’t hear from him which was very frustrating. We didn’t know if our voucher is sorted, or if they forgot about us. After this time we got our first course. All the food was delicious but it would so much nicer experience and less stressful if there would be any communication from the staff.
I would recommend the experience but their customer service needs to improve.
The food was absolutely incredible. Every dish was full of flavour, beautifully presented and a real celebration of fresh ingredients and creativity. Each course felt thoughtfully prepared and exceeded our expectations.
Altogether it was a fantastic dining experience with amazing food, outstanding service and a beautiful setting. I cannot wait to return and would highly recommend Ayllu to anyone looking for a memorable meal.
