This is a typical Mexican eatery. Not my favorite Mexican in the area but it’s edible. I got the birria tacos )3.5 -5 my wife got the ACP kids ( huge shareable portion) service was friendly and fast, beer was cold!

If you’re looking for a Tex-Mex restaurant with mad flavor, then this is your spot! The portions are huge and the flavor of each dish is off the charts good! Definitely go with the Quesabirria Tacos but if you want a burrito that is pure then grab the Burrito California Great place with fresh ingredients, awesome customer service, free parking, cool atmosphere, and I’ll definitely be back again!!!

Recommended by a friend. Had dinner last night. Everything was great. Portions were plenty. We got there at the right time, because it got crowded by the time we left.

The food came out quick and was delicious! The service wasn’t the best and it wasn’t busy at all. However, that won’t deter us from returning. My wife has celiac and it’s one of the few Mexican restaurants that offers corn tortillas.

I ordered and paid for my red salsa as it’s listed on the receipt and i didn’t receive it. If it was down the street, no issue. Unfortunately i drove back home and hour before i checked the bag. You would think it would be included if it’s listed on the receipt right? apparently not. food is decent, them following orders is not. will not return

This review is specifically for take out only.

I called by phone to place a take out order on a Saturday at 4:40pm. To note, this was an order with 5 total dishes. Nothing crazy or anything major.

Long story short – they messed up our order TWICE! They missed items in our order BOTH times (a La carte chicken tacos, rice and broccoli sides), and then served the WRONG items (pork tacos instead of chicken tacos and AGAIN did not add the a La carte tacos).

They were apologetic, but it was extremely irresponsible to mess up an order not once, but twice.

66 miles later and 2 hrs later (we drove back and forth THREE times), and we finally got our money back. The second time my husband picked up the order, they were confident that the order was correct. It wasn’t….

Please double check your orders before taking them home if you’re doing takeout or door dash. Especially if you have an allergy!

Pictures are of pork tacos which we never ordered, and the a la carte tacos which we never received TWICE.

Be careful coming here.

Like so many others on here leaving reviews, they never get out to go order right! It’s always missing stuff! We have ordered here 20 times in the past year and they literally ALWAYS forget the extra cheese dip we pay for for the ACP! I would like to mention that I think it’s absolutely ridiculous that they only give you a TINY cup of cheese dip with a huge $17 plate of food! I shouldn’t even have to order extra! It should automatically come with the bigger container of cheese dip they have for the amount of food you get! The small one isn’t even enough for half of the plate! But whatever, it doesn’t, so I always order the extra one and they ALWAYS forget it! Probably not going to order from here anymore because a couple of times is one thing but literally every time is ridiculous. It’s not hard to read a ticket and bag items properly, especially when it was only two meals! We live to far away to go back and pick it up.

My wife and I stopped in for the first time on a Sunday. It wasn’t busy, and we were seated promptly. There seemed to be extra staff waiting to leave, but everyone was friendly and welcoming. The interior wasn’t as nice as I expected based on the exterior and had more of a bar-focused feel. Food came out quickly, and the complimentary chips and salsa were decent.

One issue was the restroom situation. Despite the restaurant’s size, the bathrooms were single-toilet only, which caused a wait just to wash my hands. When I finally got in, the sink was filled with what i only hoped was beard hair. If it was left by the previous customer, it should have been cleaned (but why was he shaving in a restaurant anyway?); if not, it was especially concerning. Regardless, it was gross and very surprising to see in a restaurant.

We also had two uncomfortable interactions involving our baby. Our waitress was friendly and kind, even bringing complimentary strawberries for her. However, when our baby became restless, she offered to take her from us so we could eat. While I can only hope the intention was kind, it was inappropriate for a stranger to offer to hold our child. My wife and I declined, and she seemed embarrassed, avoiding the table until it was time for the check.

As I waited for my card back, a different, older waitress brought us a bag for our boxed food without us asking, which was appreciated. Before walking away from the table, this older waitress began fawning over our little one, then suddenly grabbed her from my father’s arms without warning. Our baby cried immediately, and so she handed her back, but it was alarming!

Our child is just over a year old, and these are the only two times strangers have crossed boundaries like this. I’m leaving this review to make other parents aware that, while the staff may mean well, there were instances of behavior that felt inappropriate. It’s better for parents to be prepared and cautious.

My husband and I had lunch here today. This is a new restaurant in Brunswick Forest in Leland. I’ve been to the one in Wilmington several times. The food is always good along with great customer service. I can say the same thing for this place.

When we arrived, almost all of the tables were filled. The bar (I counted 18 bar stools) were empty. We were seated in a booth near the bar, but asked to move to the bar because the spacing at the booth was pretty tight. The other booths looked to have more space.

We were given a basked of chips and fresh-made salsa. Not spicy, but flavorful.

I ordered the lunch flautas, which were filled with chicken and topped with melted queso, lettuce, and a side of rice and beans. I meant to ask for black beans, as I’m not a fan of re-fried beans (but they were good).

My husband had a steak burrito from the a la carte menu. He said it was very good.

I had a glass of wine with my meal. I asked for a Pinot Grigio, but they didn’t have any, so I had a Sauvignon blanc.

Jose was our server and he was very nice.

There is outside seating with many tables. However, you cannot order alcohol at this time, only if you dine inside. How crazy is that!? I hope they get their license soon.

We’re glad to have Aye Toro in our community.
