$3.00 for Queso that can fit in your palm , guac that had no onion , no tomato, I don’t even think it was a real avocado tasted more like baby puree. Birria dinner plate was mostly fat and It came with white rice , i’ve had it many different ways this has to be the worst ive ever had.
Kids burrito’s would have been better from taco bell . The ceviche was not bad at all but I cant speak from experience on that. It was also $13.99 had more veggies than shrimp , didnt bring chips (or tostadas) with it.
Ordered a strawberry margarita on the rocks it was completely watered down and made with what I can only describe as sugarless cherry kool aid.
I did offer to pay for the margarita but wanted something else . Male server , bartender , manager treated me like I was the problem and not his drink. Would be different if I was trying to get free food or drink.
We ate as much as we could which was less than half of each plate.
The place was busy but there were a lot of tables available. The place is big and it has a hall. No matter when you go you’ll find a seat.
We had Horchata and Cherry Pepsi which they make with grenadine. I am sure any of the other drinks are just as good. The Horchata is homemade so you’re not cheated on taste.
They bring you chips and salsa and they are not stingy. We had five kids and two adults and plenty of chips to hold us over.
The food is made while you wait. The combo choices are big and filling. I had the beans, rice, carnitas taco, green tamale, chicken enchilada and they all had meat. We ordered an Albondiga soup and it was home made with tortillas.
My wife ordered the Chimichanga and it came with beans and rice.
The kids had quesadillas, chicken tacos, chicken enchiladas, and fries or choice of beans and rice. So kids don’t get cheated.
It’s in a small town with great history. We found out it has been there for 20 years. The parent’s owned it and it has a family atmosphere.
We will return and enjoy our new favorite Mexican restaurant, Ayda’s!
I received my food in about 15 minutes. The tamale was warm, but everything else was cold. The food was also a bit bland, but that isn’t too surprising because it’s in Rensselaer, IN. It was fine, but I probably won’t come back.
