Very cute spot, was visiting the area and found this place. Staff is so nice, food was great and very reasonably priced, great margaritas. Check it out!

Feeling right at home from the moment I walked in. Chihuahua Cantina nails the vibrant, welcoming vibe with spot-on Mexican favorites. The chips and salsa are a great starter—fresh and flavorful. I loved the al pastor tacos: perfectly seasoned, juicy, with a crisp finish. Service was friendly and attentive, and our drinks stayed replenished without asking. Prices feel fair for the portion sizes and quality. If you’re craving bold flavors and a lively atmosphere, this place is a solid pick. Would definitely return.

I went in twice. Both times the bar was closed even though it was during the time it is supposed to be open. There was a sign posted coming in that said, “take a seat we will come to you” but when I asked, they said to come order at the counter. The online menu and the actual menu do not match. At the restaurant, there were items (fajitas and two other dishes I can’t remember) posted, but when I tried to order fajitas, they said they were out of all three items.
Some tables were dirty even though there was hardly anyone dining in and it seemed like the server could have wiped them up pretty fast. The bus-your-own station was messy.
I had two chicken street tacos with beans and rice. The tacos were good, but not great. Pretty boring and the chicken was dry. The beans were barely warm. Not just for enjoyment, but for food safety, they should have been hotter. I would have asked to get them heated up, but I had a bus to catch. The rice was awesome!
I liked both the red and green hot sauces, and chips and salsa were a welcome surprise since on the web menu they have a price posted and the in-house posted menu doesn’t mention free chips and salsa, so I didn’t think they were complementary. Second time was just for a margherita. Bar was closed but the server at the front said she could get me a drink from the back. The time I was in previously, a different server never mentioned that I could order from the bar in the front.
There are definitely some kinks to work out. I don’t think that posting bar hours, having those same hours on the window, and having a neon sign inside that is lit up saying that there is bar seating in the back is a very good idea if the bar is actually closed.
If people can order from the bar when the bar is closed, that is information that should be shared when someone asks if the bar is open. Hot food needs to be hot. The website that pops up when searching “Ay Chihuahua Bellingham” doesn’t work.
I want this to be a great, affordable go-to, right by the bus station and with quick service or a chill bar scene. I plan to try two more times to see if things have improved.

This place is grim. I know a lot of the downtown eateries cater to students who don’t seem to mind so long as they can afford it and the prices were reasonable. The sever was really nice. Atmosphere is sticky and sad and the food lacked flavor in a major way. Ordered the potato burrito which was 90% boiled potatoes and not much else. Couldn’t finish it, food should not be torture to consume.

Excellent food, excellent service, and GREAT prices! 5 of us ate for under $200 with 3 of the people having drinks with their meals! I highly recommend coming here for great food and hanging out to play games or drink more afterwards.

My go-to when I miss my bus… They are super fast and really nice. The attendant made an extra effort to be sure I didn’t get an allergen in my meal after I mentioned it. The carne asada burrito and asada fries are both really good meals. The grilled beef they’re made with is delicious.

If I’m not getting tacos here on a Friday night with a jumbo margarita, check my pulse. With new owners having access to their own meat market, these burritos and tacos are stuffed to the brim, and I love it!

I almost never write reviews but tonight inspired me – my boyfriend often come here to have some nachos and a beer in their bar area and tonight blew it out of the water. The best service we have had in years! The bartender was busy, packed house and he was attentive, checked on us often, and even though the kitchen was backed up was very communicative. A second person even came and checked on us. This is a usual place for us but experiences like this keep us coming back. Thank you!

When I entered the restaurant, I smelled a heavy chemical cleaner smell. I placed an order to go for a chicken mole burrito. I took it home and I tasted no mole sauce. The burrito also tasted like the chemical smell in the store. The food was not edible and I was afraid I’d get sick if I continued. It seems as though the chemical smell got into the food which is not acceptable.
