I wanted to edit this review because the owner made it right by offering to remake my super burrito at no charge and this time it was much better! It actually had all the ingredients in it this time and tasted much better than the last burrito! I left my old review at the bottom to give context. I definitely will be coming back!
Great salsa bar but terrible burritos! I got the super burrito for $15 which was a little pricey for a burrito in my opinion. It was missing most the ingredients that was supposed to be in it but there was a lot of rice though, lol! Carne Asada was gristly and tasteless. Definitely no sign of cheese, sour cream or pico, and what guacamole I could find tasted old. The burrito came out within a couple of minutes With absolutely no love at all! Super disappointing!

My wife had the enchilada plate and I had the Poll adobo. Both were high quality, fresh and hot and the staff were very friendly. We will return!

Last night, my husband and I tried Axel’s Taco Shop on Reed market. To say the food was delicious is an understatement. I was literally stuffed and couldn’t stop eating because it was so tasty.
We ordered the 1/2 plate super nachos, potato tacos and the carnitas taco. Total cost of food was $23. This was an amazing price based on the quality of food. The super nachos were so flavorful. Everything was so fresh. They used cotija on top of the nachos and the potato tacos. The tortilla chips and tortillas were nice and crispy. They also offer an amazing salsa bar. The roasted peppers and onions and pickled carrots were delicious. Their salsas were also super yummy.
In addition to the food, the people who worked there were really nice, service was speedy and the place was clean. This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant.
10/10- will be going back again!

Decent food at lowest cost in town.
Young man at cash register spoke little English when I made my to go order. When I picked up my bag of food, they handed me a bag that was tied at the top so tightly I had to cut it with a pair of scissors when I got home. No attempt by anyone behind the counter was made to go over the meal to make sure they got it right before I left.
Go figure…the two items I asked for to be held off my burrito were in it. They did put the guacamole on the side as I requested…guacamole was brown on top. How delightful.
If you want it fast and cheap, this place is a decent fit. I you also want tasty and high quality, invest an extra $5-$10 at numerous restaurants in Central Oregon with years of a proven track record that understand customer service better.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant. I ordered a carne asada super burrito and was shocked with the portions and quality. It was delicious. They had a great salsa bar. They offered grilled jalapeños. So good. I’ll be back!
Came back on 4/28/25 for dinner and it wasn’t as good as my first two visits. I was a little disappointed with the service. Tge staff seemed very distracted and sometimes confused at whose orders were whose. The burrito seemed to be sloppily made because it fell apart on me. I hope this was one off.

I usually never have a problem with my order. Food is delicious but my order was wrong. I was supposed to have double rice and no beans.

I’ve stopped here multiple times for pickups over the past few months, including tonight (Valentine’s Day at 6:55 PM), and unfortunately the service has consistently been unwelcoming. Staff often avoid basic acknowledgment or communication, which feels dismissive and uncomfortable. This has happened repeatedly since around Thanksgiving. While others may enjoy the food, customer service matters just as much. Based on my experiences, I can’t recommend this location.
** I haven’t personally eaten the food here—only seen it—so to be fair, I’m giving three stars since I can’t speak to the quality of the food itself. However, based on repeated service experiences, I don’t plan to be a patron now or in the foreseeable future.

It was quite busy busy line moved quickly, and food was severed fast. Friendly and nice workers.
Ordered carne asada nachos, order of x3 sopes (chorizo, carnitad and asada), taco de pastor, aqua fresca and flan. Every thing was delicious and flavorful. What I found in Bend personally is that places over season their meats either way too much or not enough lol so it was perfect. Yay! Carnitas has a nice little crunch. The only thing that I asked for was extra sour cream and cheese for me sopes.
I am glad that they have extended hours! Win win for this pregnant lady hehe
Pricing was not over priced and especially for the good portions.
Definitely recommend and I will be coming back.
