Awaze opened its doors in April 2022, with a goal of providing traditional Ethiopian food, a cuisine with its origins dating back to the middle of the first millennium A.D., as well as fusion dishes that combine western cooking elements. Our food is meticulously prepared under the supervision of two seasoned cooks, Abay and Meaza! Our friendly staff is eager to serve and make your dinning at Awaze a pleasant experience. Absolutely a must try!!! Sweet staff and beautiful decor. Dont let the outside fool you THIS IS A GEM! This was my wife’s first time trying Ethiopian food and she loved everything. I did too. We got appetizers amd the veggie sampler. We could not finish it all it was so much and so good. Also so affordable. I WILL BE BACK!!

Amazing Ethiopian food! We are vegetarian and loved their vegan platter. Everything was so flavorful and it was plenty of food for 2 to share. The tea was hot and paired perfectly with dinner. Our host was so friendly and polite as well. I love to support local family businesses and would highly recommend coming here! 10/10

Very cool family owned Ethiopian restaurant, extremely clean, second floor lovely atmosphere with traditional seating and Messob. While eating the mayor came round to visit.

Decided to give this place a second try and came around 7pm on a Sunday.
The atmosphere is very nice and calm. It has tradition decor in a small intimate setting.
The hostess was very kind and welcoming, she helped me pick the best items based on what i was craving and even modified my order for me.
Getting to the location is a little interesting, you may want to take the stairs instead of the elevator for hygiene reasons.
All in all, Awaze is a great place to visit if you’re looking for some good Ethiopian food in Long Beach.
I definitely recommend and will be bringing more friends and family to try this place as well.

It was Saturday afternoon, and it wasn’t crowded. Since it was our first time trying Ethiopian food, we got the $55 platter. It was so good! I was reading about their “injera” made from teff, which is like our “dosa” made from rice back in India.
The platter was awesome and delicious. Maybe the portion size could be a bit bigger because it’s supposed to serve 3-4 people. It filled us up, and there were only two of us. I definitely recommend it as a restaurant in Artesia, and we’ll go back.

We got the #26 Veggie Combo and it was exceptional! The place was clean and comfortable, the food was fresh, delicious, (the beets rocked, and the host was super attentive and warm. We highly recommend this divine culinary phenomenon! We will be grubbing here next time we crave Ethiopian!!!
