I stopped by today with my three sons, and we absolutely loved this delicious bakery! The palmier was our favorite! It was a scrumptious, sugary, buttery treat that we all wanted more of! The sugar cookies with chocolate centers and apple tart were also amazing! I loved the fresh ingredients, and enjoyed my conversation with one of the bakers about their use of real ingredients like butter and not crisco. We will definitely stop by again when we are in the area!

My husband and I like our pizza date nights, and Awaken thin crust is our favorite. We can order a couple of slices or a whole pizza. I prefer white and my husband prefers red, but we agree that both are delicious. Crispy, hot, with the right amount of cheese and seasoning.
The staff is friendly and very helpful and the shop is inviting and clean. You’ll like it.

I’ve been here several times since Awaken has recently taken over the space and I’ve enjoyed all of it. I’ve been patronizing this spot since it opened years ago as Great Lakes Baking Co. The new owners are very friendly and genuinely appreciate the business. They always seem busy and I’m not surprised. Great addition to the neighborhood.

Tracy, is friendly, helpful and cheerful! She makes every customer feel special every visit. This is a marvelous bakery! Beautiful challah bread on Friday’s. They bake the very best scones I’ve ever had ( including scones I’ve had at numerous high teas in London’s finest establishments ) what a gem!

Such a great local bakery! Their selection of breads and pastries are incredible and service is exceptional. I love their rustic-rough scones and French Batard bread – oh! And also the French Baguette! Crust is perfect and the flavor is wonderful – must eat within 24 hrs!!
